Every week LeniCam Video Productions, Dallas Wedding Videographer,  is invited to weddings, game days, dance recitals, banquets and other events throughout North Texas. Sure we have a job to do there, but we also have the blessing of participating in the special moments of some very wonderful people. A Celebration of Many Parts

David and Xiaomin Liu were married here in Dallas, but most of their family members were in China. A few weeks after the wedding, the Liu’s traveled to China to celebrate the marriage there. So the family members in China could share their wedding ceremony in, David and Xiaomin asked us to expedite the preparation of their video and took it along with them. Their friends in China said their video looked like a Hollywood movie!

A Video in Two Languages

Every couple who comes to LeniCam for a wedding video is unique. It doesn’t matter whether they grew up next door to each other in Dallas or separated by thousands of miles in completely different countries. When a couple marries, it is more than just two people coming together. It is the merging of customs, traditions, rituals, beliefs and sometimes languages. For David and Xiaomin, both English and Mandrian were important, so we recorded their testimonial in both languages. The first thing Billy learned about Carrie was her Top Five Fun Facts on E-Harmony.  The facts were hilarious and Billy is still enjoying Carrie’s sense of fun.  Billy and Carrie were married at The Cotton Mill in McKinney.

The name of the venue is no clever marketing ploy.  The edifice was built in the early 1900’s and was central to the Texas cotton industry.  Cotton was actively grown and processed in Collin County.  Over the years the mill buildings have been renovated several times and the old charm of early twentieth century industrialization has been preserved and enhanced.

Along with being fun, Carrie is a real beauty.  She looked stunning in her strapless satin A-line gown with a beaded sweetheart bodice and shirring, which emphasized her trim frame.  Even as she posed for pictures, you could tell this was a lady who liked to bring joy to everyone around her.

Carrie’s Mom escorted the bride down the aisle and gave her to Billy.  The ceremony included a sand-pouring ritual with both moms and ended with an enthusiastic kiss.  “Life is just better with her around,” Billy was heard to say.  Now she’ll always be around.

At the reception the couple cut their beautiful wedding cake which had pink roses cascading from top to bottom and they toasted one another with gorgeous crystal flutes.  It was easy to tell that they were eager to get the formalities behind them and head out on the dance floor.  The energy of the bride and groom was infectious and the dance floor stayed busy all night long.

Eventually the day was over and it was time for the bride and groom to escape.  Hand-in-hand they strolled triumphantly to the vintage car waiting to whisk them away.

The first step in making Billy and Carrie’s video was to talk to the couple and learn what was important to them about each other and about their special day.  To us, that’s more important than the order of service.  We want our videos to be a touchstone throughout a marriage, not just the recording of a ritual.

We learned Billy and Carrie were a high energy couple interested in the joys of a life well-lived.  So we suggested our trailer style video which uses one song as the theme of a fast-paced video.  Carrie chose the song  and then we wove the action and sounds we recorded into the music.  In several places, like the sand pouring ceremony, we used special effects to emphasize the couple’s high energy.

LeniCam Love Story Video is an Important Part of the Celebration

From the bride’s radiant smile to the couple’s fiery sparkler send-off, Jenna and Casey enjoyed a dazzling wedding day.

The historic First United Methodist Church in Downtown Dallas provided an elegant venue for the couple’s ceremony.  A venerable old building with unique architectural touches, the church holds its own among the shiny new skyscrapers.

Throughout the day, the effervescent bride also held her own in a stunning, off- the- shoulder ivory satin, gown, heavily encrusted with lace, bedazzled with jewels and complimented by her bridesmaid’s chic black lace dresses.  Instead of a bouquet, she chose to carry an ivory fan decorated with white roses and a white lace bow.

Coming down the aisle with her father, the bride displayed her eagerness to marry her handsome groom.  His big grin, at his first sight of her, communicated his own zest for the nuptials.  Their resounding kisses at the end of the ceremony were followed by many more as the night progressed.

The wedding party traveled from the ceremony to an exuberant reception at Canyon Creek Country Club in a Citi Sedan Party Bus. Tiers of decorated cupcakes surrounded by bon bons and cake-pops were served to the guests, while Jenna and Casey shared a small cake iced with colorful swirls.

Because the couple frolicked through their day, giggling during their vows and spontaneously delivering and demanding kisses, it’s no surprise they offered a photo booth with crazy props to their guests  or chose a DJ who creatively recognized special members of the audience.

As the night drew to a close and the guests waved farewell with their sparklers, Jenna stopped to express her love for her family and friends, one more time.  With her fingers forming a heart, she made a slow turn, looking deeply into the eyes of her well-wishers.

Capturing details, like the bride’s ivory fan bouquet, her luminous be-jeweled gown, the unity candle ceremony and the couple’s boundless joy is our responsibility. The Photo Fun segment, in this Highlights Video, displays amusing moments caught between the still photographer’s formal poses.

This couple also hired us to do a Love Story Video to be shown during their celebrations.  These video are always enjoyed by the guests and then the couple has it to enjoy as a part of their wedding video.

We arrive early to set up special video equipment which sees and hears everything, while remaining virtually invisible to participants, officiants and guests.  We placed a remote camera, out of the line of sight, to capture the bride’s giggles during the vows. Then the cameraman used a balcony vantage point to record dramatic shots of the ceremony impossible for guests to imagine.  To capture special spoken memories we used a small wireless microphone hidden on the groom. As a result, we were everywhere, and caught everything, but quietly and unobtrusively.

A guest arriving at Benu and Yazid’s wedding might have a hard time believing they are anywhere in America.  The gorgeous Italianate stone chapel chosen for their ceremony sits on an island in a lake and can only be reached by crossing a footbridge.  The chapel is reminiscent of a time when holy places were lovingly wrought from stone by the hands of masons, through years and years of labor.  Benu and Yazid were married at Bella Donna Chapel in McKinney.

Benu was a beautiful bride whose appearance also suggested another place and time. Her abundant black tresses cascaded unfettered beyond her shoulders.  She wore a short-sleeved blouse and full skirt ornately beaded in the tradition of Indian sarees.  A long red beaded shawl hung elegantly between her arms.  Around her neck was an ornate necklace and many bracelet jingled at her wrists.  As she walked down the aisle a guest whispered, “She’s gorgeous.”

During their vows, the bride and groom gazed lovingly at one another.  When they turn to be introduced as man and wife, their smiles are radiant.  Then as they walk down the aisle hand in hand, Yazid face clouds for a moment as he realizes what he’s just done.  After great sigh, the smile returns threefold.  He’s obviously proud that he’s won the heart of such a beauty. He lifts their clasped hands, which hold Benu’s bouquet of red roses, and waves the bouquet in the air.  Outside the chapel a bell peals to celebrate the wedding, a Bella Donna Chapel tradition.  Thanks to Rachelle Buckner for coordinating another lovely wedding at the chapel.

Different brides want different things and have different priorities.  That’s why LeniCam offers a variety of packages, from one videographer at the ceremony only, to multiple videographers at multiple locations and extras such as BluRay, montages and love stories.  What’s more, we will customize our services to fit your needs, whatever they may be.

Benu and Yazid just wanted a record of their ceremony and the space required only one camera.  Regardless of size, every event we film gets the full LeniCam treatment.  That means we arrived early to set up our equipment and brought plenty of backups.  We never let a low battery or defective part slow us down.  We carry multiples of everything.

During the event we were everywhere, capturing all the details.  We also tried to stay out of sight, so we didn’t distract from the bride and groom.  We used cinematography tricks as we filmed, edited and mixed the Dallas wedding video, so that it appears we shot from multiple locations.  The finished product is a high quality video every bit as beautiful as one shot with multiple videographers.

 Cameron, a love-sick sailor posted in Japan, was on the phone to Cornelia in the States, trying to convince her towards a more serious commitment.  Cornelia was having none of it.  She wanted to look him in the eye when he confessed his love for her. So, he arranged for her to travel to Japan. That’s when he won her heart.  Cornelia and Cameron were married in a beautiful wedding catered by Agnes Bowens of Affairs Amore at Event 1013 in Downtown Plano.

At this wedding, the lovely bride wasn’t the only one in white.  The handsome groom wore his dapper Dress White Navy Uniform.  An hour before the pair met at the altar, Cameron brought his bride to tears when his thoughtful gift was delivered.  It included the key to his heart and a vintage timepiece to mark the happy hours of their life together.

The bride wore a strapless fit-and-flare gown of white chiffon with corset lacing.  The ruched bodice was trimmed in crystal and exploded into a skirt and train of ruffles.  Her long veil was tulle. The bridesmaid’s peach gowns echoed the style of the wedding dress and the flower girl’s ruffley dress was tied with a peach sash.  The bride’s bouquet was made of hand-formed satin roses and the bridesmaids carried votive candles in decorated glass jars.

“You are the answer to my many prayers,” Cameron said in the vows he’d written.  Both the bride and groom, made references to the role God played in bringing them together and they vowed to include Him in their home and family.  A sand ceremony completed their wedding service.

After the touching wedding, the room was transformed for the reception.  Candlelight dominated the scene from a wall of votives to votives and roses among mason jars on tabletops.  Guests enjoyed a gorgeous three-tiered cake with a huge peach fondant rose.  Then everyone danced the night away until it was time for the bride and groom to depart.  As the couple made their way to a white vintage Rolls Royce, their guests waved streamers of white and peach.

When our camera-people arrived at Event 1013, they immediately introduced themselves to the other vendors on-site.  On wedding day, we consider all vendors are on the same team.  While setting up, the organist realized the romantic votives around the room didn’t provide enough light for him to play his instrument.  LeniCam came to the rescue, positioning a camera to do double duty – lighting up the ceremony for filming and lighting up the musician’s corner for sound.

Capturing distinct facial features against the bright, reflective white of wedding apparel is another important job of the videographer and it requires extraordinary skill.  At this wedding, the task was made even more difficult by the low light of the candles, and as you can see, the couples excitement is as bright as can be.
