LeniCam Video Productions, Wedding Videographers for Dallas TX, are no strangers to photography. From time to time we have provided photographs as a part of our services to a client, but now we actually have a dedicated photographer as a part of our team.

Son Joshua Inspires a Passion for Photography

Michelle was always interested in photography and thirteen years ago bought her first 35mm camera. When her son, Joshua, was born she wanted to capture everything about him, without missing a moment. What had once been an interesting hobby became her passion. When Joshua turned eleven he insisted she find new subjects, so she made photography her career.

“Pictures should not be locked up in computers and phones,” Michelle adamantly insists.

She wants everyone to live with their photographic images. “Surround yourself with fun family photos,” she advises. As far as Michelle is concerned, taking the photos should be a part of the fun. When an older woman approached the photographer about an “obituary” photo, the potential client saw the task as a burden. The woman anticipated going to a studio and sitting on a stool while the photographer peppered her with instructions to lift her chin and turn to the left.

Instead Michelle took the client to the park and the two chatted as they strolled along, snapping candid shots without posing. The photographs were great and the woman loves them, but even more she enjoys the memory of the day, out in the park with her photographer friend.

To hone her skills, Michelle has taken classes at a local college. She’s adept at both Photoshop and Lightroom . She’s worked as a video director for two

churches. For the last two years she’s won ribbons at the State Fair of Texas. The Coppell Rotary Club used her work for their 2014 calendar and she’s won the “photo of the day” numerous times at Capture Dallas . Thoughtful Bride Honors Many Traditions at Country Club Wedding

Leanna wasn’t taking any chances on her wedding day.  From pinning something old on her petticoat to a sixpence taped on her shoe, she took all the proper bridal precautions.  Then after a final application of lip gloss, she marched right out and married Tim at Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco.

Leanna was dazzling on her wedding day in a bright-white strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline.  The bodice was covered in crystal beads sewn into a floral lace pattern and the A-line skirt was a series of vertical organza ruffles.  Even her fingertip veil was edged in crystals.  Still, her smile was her most beautiful accoutrement.

As the wedding party made their way into the ceremony, the ring bearer appeared to be exasperated by the whole process.  He stomped down the aisle with his arms crossed and the ring pillow shoved to the side.  He was followed down the aisle by a flower girl who shared none of his angst.  She almost floated down the aisle with joy.

Leanna and Tim wrote their vows for one another, which were both meaningful and humorous.  The touching ceremony included the lighting of a unity candle. After announcing the couple man and wife, the officiant got in on the humor, declaring them Mr. and Mrs. Little Timothy Navin when tall broad-shouldered groom was anything but little.

It was easy to see that Leanna had put a lot of thought into the celebration.  Along with her pre-wedding ministrations, the programs were “Wedding Activity Books” and the guests located their table for the reception with personalized luggage tags.

It was also easy to see this couple was devoted to fun.  The wedding cake topper was bride and groom figurines carrying signs.  The groom’s sign said, “Mr. Right,” while the bride’s sign declared she was “Mrs. Always Right.”  Instead of the standard tiered wedding cake, they served a table full of decorated one-layer cakes.  When the couple cut their cake the ritual almost turned into a food fight.  Another laughter-filled moment of the day was the Newlywed Shoe Game where both spouse admitted that Leanna made the first move.

The good times continued through the garter toss.  Little Timothy tossed the garter onto a ledge which hid the indirect lighting overhead.  Even Little Timothy couldn’t reach it.  Not to worry – the ever-prepared bride just happened to have a second garter.

As the guests said farewell with bubbles, the bride and groom played one more prank.  Tim’s mother drove up in her SUV and when they drove away, Mom and bride were in the front seat, while Tim pouted in the back seat.

Leanna and Tim chose our wedding package with two videographers.  That allows us to record the wedding from two different perspectives and weave them together at our studio through editing and mixing.  In this highlight film, we also wove their vows together to show the essence of their vows without taking time to reproduce the entire exchange.  The camera which provided the close-ups was actually a proprietary remote control camera.  It sat near the front, outside  of the line of sight and without the movements of a cameraman to distract from the ceremony.

Another trick we’ve learned in all these years of wedding videography is that the audio portion of a wedding is as important as what you see.  So we put a lapel microphone on the groom.  This trick helped up pick up the heart-warming and funny-bone tickling vows.  We also got to listen is as the bride and groom serenaded one another in the first dance.

Jessica and Scott – Paradise Cove in Southlake on Lake Grapevine

“She keeps me in line.” At least that’s what Scott claimed as he listed reasons for marrying Jessica.  On their wedding day both the bride and groom seemed to be coloring outside the lines.  It made for a fun-filled event. On a chilly, blustery autumn day, Jessica and Scott were married at Paradise Cove in Southlake.

Jessica looked quite elegant on her wedding day.  She chose a strapless fit-and-flare gown with a sweetheart neckline.  The bodice was covered in crystal beading and her hips were wrapped tightly in a satin cummberbund, held in place by a marquis-shaped crystal appliqué.  Her necklace was a double strand of sparkling crystals.  You’d never guess the sophisticated looking bride had cowboy boots under her gown.  The bridesmaids wore short brown dresses with deep V necklines, complimented by their own cowboy boots and mixed bouquets of fall colors.  The groom and his attendants wore accessories in a warm peach tone.

As the bride stepped onto the aisle of the outdoor gazebo, the wind whipped up, lifting her veil into the air.  She walked down an aisle decorated with small pumpkins filled with fall flowers.  Suddenly several groomsmen jumped into the aisle brandishing disposable cameras and setting the tone for a day full of laughs.  The bride and groom got the next laugh.  As soon as her father turned the bride over to the groom, the pair leaned into one another for a kiss.  Ooops!  The officiant reminded them the kiss was supposed to come at the end of the ceremony. “My bad,” confessed Scott.

As a part of their wedding, the couple participated in a sand pouring ritual.  They included the minister, who poured a third color of sand into the vase, representing the role God would have in their life together.  Finally, it was time for Scott to kiss his bride.  Then Jessica whispered, “Love you.”

When the ceremony was over, the photographer from Shoeless Expressions gathered everyone up for some formal poses.  At last, the bride was able to admit she was freezing with her shoulders bare to the crisp air.  She bravely continued however, enjoying all the fun poses the photographer had for the wedding party.

Paradise Cove’s reception space, bathed in fall colors, was a whole lot warmer than the outdoors.  The venue’s lovely decorations revealed more of the couple’s humor.  Resting among fall leaves spread across the fireplace mantle was a pair of Mickey-Mouse-earred beanies, bride-and-groom styled.

The wedding cake was part bride’s cake and part’s groom cake.  Outside, the cake had white icing decorated with pictures meaningful to the couple.  Inside the cake was dark devil’s food chocolate.  The cutting of the cake was more food fight than wedding ritual.  The couple was having a grand old time and no feelings were hurt as the icing was smeared liberally on their faces.

You could tell the bride and groom were having a blast, whether they were dancing their First Dance, tossing garters and bouquets or enjoying the delicious buffet meal.  At the end of the reception, the guests were supposed to be waving glowsticks.  Instead, they decided the neon plastic sticks would be great weapons and they playfully whipped the bride and groom.  The couple escaped the onslaught and Scott lifted his bride into his pick-up truck.  As the couple drove away, you could see that the truck had been decorated with glowsticks.   This bride and groom are looking forward to a life full of laughs.

Our best trick on this wedding day was the lavalier microphone we put on the groom’s lapel.  The primary purpose of the mic was to record the vows without the distraction of background noises.  We asked Scott to keep it on throughout the day and the results were heartwarming.  We got the quips during the ceremony, and we also recorded Scott serenading Jessica during the First Dance and the dialog of the food fight.

Our camera people were kind of like that wireless microphone on the groom.  They were everywhere, all day long, recording everything and they were virtually invisible while they did it.  We choose to use equipment which allows us to stay in the background while taking gorgeous video footage.  When we were through at the wedding , we went back to the studio and over the next few weeks created unique wedding video that the couple loved.
