LeniCam Video Productions, Dallas Event Videographer, was founded in 2003, but our founder, John Lenihan recorded a wedding for the first time in 1977. The wedding was his own. Technology has changed a lot since then, but the intense desire to capture once-in-a-lifetime events to be enjoyed over and over is the same.

Wedding Videography

Weddings are where we started and we still do more wedding videos than any other kind, but we go to a lot more weddings than John could shoot himself. On any given weekend during wedding season our experienced Dallas Event Videographer teams go to multiple weddings, in pairs and alone – often to more than one wedding in a single day.

Our experience is important, but so is our equipment. We’ve custom-designed proprietary video cameras that allow us to get the shots other videographers can’t. We know the wedding venues in Dallas and the Metroplex, and our equipment allows us to shoot around their rules for videography equipment and camera-persons. Our remote control video cameras keep us in the background while we capture tight close-ups of wedding vows. Our hands-free lapel microphones pick up the important words of the day without requiring anyone to juggle a hand mic or be tied to a microphone stand. Sports Videography

You name the sport and we have the videos. Our sports clients range from High School Booster Clubs who hire us to create season videos of varsity football teams to individual players who want to send lacrosse highlight videos to prospective colleges. When it comes to sports, we’re not just fair-weather friends, either. We’re prepared to record, if you’re going to play, no matter what the Texas skies deliver.

As we have with weddings, we’ve also developed proprietary equipment that helps us out on the sidelines. After competing with soccer moms and football dads for a spot next to the field, we figured out a way to have our videographer on the ground, but our camera up above the spectators. That guy on the sidelines with the ski mask might be our Dallas Event Videographer using special glasses to monitor our video camera shots. The remote control allows him to direct the camera to follow the action.

Weddings aren’t the only special events we capture. We’re busy with special occasions of every variety. We cover school events from stage productions to banquets, personal events from bar mitzvahs to quinceaneras and recitals of every kind.

We’re very strong in recitals. We’ll be very glad to capture your little sweetheart on her special day, but we can do more than that. Second Daughter Marries at Ashton Gardens with LeniCam Video Productions

Art was pretty nervous about his wedding day.  Tears rushed to his eyes when his bride entered the chapel.  When she reached his side, they discussed his nervousness in whispers as the ceremony went on around them.  His hands shook as they cut their wedding cake.  Once the formalities were behind him and he had Amanda in his arms for the First Dance, the nerves disappeared and you could see just how happy Art was to have the beautiful Amanda as his companion for life.  Amanda and Art were married at Ashton Gardens in Corinth.

Amanda was decked out from head to toe for her big day.  Her veil was held in place by a sparkling headband.  Her strapless ballgown with sweetheart neckline was a real showstopper.  The skirt featured wired ruffles running down the length of it, topped off with a sparkling belt and lace bodice.  Under the gown she chose lace espadrilles – a comfortable choice proving she had brains as well as beauty.  The bridesmaids wore short lace dresses in a bright coral with turquoise high-heeled pumps.

Ashton Gardens looked particularly lovely on Art and Amanda’s wedding day.  The gorgeous weather enhanced the view through the three windows surrounding the chapel, looking out onto beautiful wooded scenery.  Pews were decorated by nosegays with large bows and an ornate urn on the stage held an elaborate floral arrangement.  Also gracing the stage were a large wrought iron candelabra, a unity candle and a unity cross.

After the ceremony family and friends joined the couple for some photos and then went to the reception space, just a few feet away.  Art and Amanda lingered in the chapel for a few more shots with Therwhanger Photography and then strolled across to the reception.  As they made a dramatic entrance down Ashton Gardens’ elegant curving staircase, DJ Tommy L. Chamber of Shon-C introduced them to the excited guests.

Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner, had fun in the photobooth and then hit the dance floor.  The DJ kept everyone hopping with a wide variety of music and activities, including the bouquet and garter tosses.  By the end of the evening, Amanda traded her wedding finery in on a pair of shorts with an embroidered boyfriend shirt.  Then Art escorted Amanda to a waiting car while friends and family waved farewell with glowing sparklers.

We love weddings, because no matter how many we attend, we find something wonderful to enjoy.  We were particularly happy to be invited to this one, because we’d videoed her sister Allysa’s wedding just a few years before.  On this day, Art’s extreme nervousness and excitement made the day very special to us and our equipment helped us highlight it in our video.

We used two cameras to video the wedding – one at the back of the chapel and another up front on the stage, hidden behind a floral display.  Our camera on the stage caught the bride’s entrance and the audience’s response, while the camera in the back focused on the nervous groom.  During the ceremony we kept the camera at the front on the couple and we could hear what they said, because we’d put a wireless lavalier microphone on the groom.  That’s how we captured their interaction.

Because we use professional grade HD videocameras we’re able to stay out of sight while we get the shots.  Most videographers don’t have the same zoom capabilities as our cameras, so they have to stay very close to the bride.  We’re able to set up our cameras, get the shots and be virtually invisible throughout the day.

The bride seemed nonchalant about her wedding.  While the stylist worked on her hair, Claudia sat in the floor staring into her laptop.  About the only way you could tell she was getting ready for her wedding was the blue ruffled garter around her thigh.  When the chapel doors were opened it was a completely different story.  Tears of joy ran down her cheeks.  Claudia married Jared at Capella Court Gardens in Carrollton.

Before the wedding the bride’s dressing room was full of pretty girls getting ready for Claudia’s big day.  Two little girls were decked-out in white organza dresses with pink silk flowers all around the hem.  On their heads they wore circlets of white flowers with small veils.  The bridesmaids’ dresses were long and black with deep V necklines.  As lovely as they all were, no one outshone the bride in her strapless white satin gown with intricate crystal beading.

Over in the groom’s waiting room, Jared and his groomsmen gathered to prayer with the pastor.  Of course, that was after the handsome groom checked himself out in the mirror and liked what he saw.

For the ceremony in the chapel, pairs of bridesmaids and groomsmen entered down matching staircases and walked down the aisle together.  Then from between double doors at the rear, the darling flower girls preceded a young man with a banner declaring, “Here comes the Bride.”  The double doors closed after the young man with the sign and opened for the stunning bride in her gorgeous dress, which was as beautiful from the rear as it was from the front.

The stately chapel glowed with white paneling highlighted by golden touches.  White tapers flickered in golden candelabra.  As the couple’s parents’ entered the chapel they lit tapers to be used by Claudia and Jared to light their unity candle.  The nervous groom nearly stumbled at the start of the vows, but by the end, his voice was loud and clear.  The bride also vowed with commitment.  As the couple left the chapel the banner, carried by the young man, was turned over to say “Just Married.”

At the door of the reception, guests were offered fanciful lollipops and small personalized swag bags.  A delicious looking buffet offered fruits, cheese and other hors d’oeuvres.  Dominating the room was a large ice sculptured vase holding red roses.  Each layer of the towering wedding cake was banded by a strip of rhinestones.  The groom’s cake was fashioned to look like a basket full of chocolate covered fruit.  Everyone enjoyed Claudia and Jared’s wedding day.

Claudia and Jared were certainly the stars of their wedding video, but like most couples, they really enjoyed watching everyone else when they got the opportunity to see the finished product.  We get lots of group shots, so the couple can see each guest at least once in the video, but one of the reasons we arrive early is to identify the people closest to the couple.  Those are the people we make sure to highlight in the video.

Another reason we arrive early is the audio track.  We need to make sure there is a microphone available for everyone who will speak or perform during the ceremony and that we are connected to the audio feeds.  Our most connection is with the lavalier microphone attached to the groom’s lapel.  That’s what gives us a clear recording of the vows and it also gives us the inside track on the rest of the day.

Making a wedding video is more than pointing a camera towards the front of the church.  We arrive with thousands of dollars of equipment and over a decade of experience in wedding videography.  Throughout the day we are everywhere, recording everything, while remaining virtually invisible to the guests and participants.  Then we return to our studio and devote several weeks to creating a unique video the bride and groom will cherish for years to come.

Fall Wedding at Park Cities Baptist Church

Their first date was at Mattito’s in Uptown and by their third date they realized something serious was going on.  Recently, for old time’s sake, they made a repeat visit.  Next time they go they’ll be man and wife, because Lauren and Alex were married at Ellis Chapel of Park Cities Baptist Church.

The pretty, strawberry-blond Lauren wore a white satin halter gown covered in ornate crystal-enhanced lace.  The back of the gown was festooned with a large slipknot bow.   Her “something old” was a beautiful diamond solitaire necklace which had been her grandmothers.  Her scallop-edged tulle veil was trimmed with crystals.  In her hands she carried a bouquet of white roses.

Ellis Chapel provided an elegant back drop for the fall wedding.  The pews were decorated with nosegays of roses with a trailing burgundy ribbon.  Brass candlesticks and a large arrangement of flowers graced the stage.  A pipe organ and live trumpet played as Lauren went down the aisle on her father’s arm.  Adding color to the scene were the bridesmaids in their short red dresses.  The ceremony included scripture readings and the lighting of a unity candle.

The reception was held nearby in the Doubletree Inn.  Lauren freshened her look by replacing her veil with a crystal-embellished ribbon in her hair.  After they were announced Alex took his dazzling bride into his arms and guided her around the dance floor like a pro.  It was easy to see they were both glad to be married.  Alex became playful as they cut their cake and Lauren ended up with icing all over her chin.  From the elaborately decorated wedding cake with roses trailing down the side, the couple turned to the chocolate groom’s cake embellished with the Texas Ranger’s team logo.

There’s more to a wedding day than a ceremony and a reception.  Sometimes it’s those in-between times that are the most fun or photogenic.  That’s why we get to a wedding and hour and a half before it starts and keep the cameras rolling until the bride and groom drive away.

We target an early arrival, because to avoid getting held up by traffic or missed exits.  We also have a lot of equipment to unload and set up.  As soon as that’s all done, our videographer’s become roving reporters, checking into the bride’s dressing room and visiting with the groom to get the background story.

Lauren’s dad told us about the grandmother’s necklace and Alex revealed the story of their first and last date at Mattito’s.  Those kinds of details make the video much more interesting to watch.  It also gives us an opportunity to double check all the details and make sure that everyone who needs one has a microphone.  We put a lavalier microphone on the groom to clearly record the vows and then ask him to keep it on, so we can capture sentiments expressed throughout the evening.

Of course, the wedding ceremony is the main event.  We set up one camera near the front of the chapel to get the bride as she walked down the aisle and then close-ups of her during the vows.  It’s a remote control camera, so the videographer is able to look through a monitor and control the camera. without being up in the front where he’d be distracting.  Another cameraman set up at the back of the church to capture the shots of more complete view of the front of the chapel.

One videographer stayed with the couple while they had formal photography made in front of the beautiful church, while another one set up for the reception.  By the time the bride and groom were announced, both videocameras were ready to capture the fun.

Our goal was to be everywhere all the time, recording everything.  Still we want to be invisible to the guests and participants.  That’s why we developed our custom remote camera and use professional grade HD videocameras that let us get great quality shots without having to be in the middle of everything, like videographers using DSLR.

Indian Families Celebrate a Multi-day Event in Wedding Videos Dallas TX

Mona and Anand – An Extravaganza of Islamic and Hindu Traditions at the Hotel Intercontinental

Mona and Anand had more than a wonderful wedding day.  They had a two-day wedding extravaganza highlighting their cultural and religious backgrounds.  By combining her Islamic traditions with his Hindu traditions, the couple hosted an event highlighting customs and rituals popular all over the Middle and Near East.

The festivities started on a Friday night with  Janavasam.  A stately carriage with two handsome horses, a driver and a footman waited outside a door of the hotel.  The bride and groom, dressed in gorgeous costumes from their native India entered the carriage.  Then accompanied by their friends and family, also in bright silks and brocades, the couple rode all the way around the hotel parking lot.  Their friends beat on drums, played flutes and called out greetings to the couple.

The carriage stopped at a different door than where they started and the couple left the carriage leading everyone to the pool area for the Sangeet celebration.  The couple was seated on a platform draped with beautiful silks and covered with pillows.  The mothers of the couple performed the Haldi ceremony, painting the faces of the bride and groom with turmeric to bring auspicious blessing to the couple.   Lavish entertainment included a delicious buffet with a myriad of native dishes, entertainers performing Indian music and artists painted guests’ hands with henna.

The next morning, Mona was carefully adorned for her husband, including a mehendi application of henna.  She was wrapped in an extravagant red and gold sari.  Jewels were attached to her brow.  Then exquisite gold jewelry was layered over her clothing.  For a final touch, an orchid was placed in her hair.

Anand, too, was dressed elaborately for the Baarat procession to his bride.  He wore a white satin Nehru suit shot with threads of gold and intricately embroidered in gold. He rode in a convertible from one door of the hotel to the next, but it took him an hour and a half to get there.  The family and the attendants of the bride kept demanding money and favors from him for him to get to his bride.

Anand was greeted with the Aarti and joined his bride in a beautiful pavilion for the Jaimala, where garlands were exchanged.  Yogurt and honey were offered in Madhupak to honor the groom.  Mona was given to Anand with the Kanyadaan ceremony and the union was solemnized by the Havan and Rajaham, lighting and sacrifice to the flame.  During the Gath Bandhan the bride and groom were wrapped in shawls which were then tied together to symbolized their union.  Wrapped in the shawls they took Saptapardi, the seven steps together.  To mark Mona as his, Anand put a small dot of vermillion, called Sindoor, on Mona’s forehead.

At 5 PM, the guests, many of them in beautiful cultural outfits like the bride and groom enjoyed an extravagant buffet with an incredible quantity and variety of food.  Then the bride and groom, Mono in her glamorous sari, this time with a pale blue shawl trimmed in gold and even more beautiful jewelry, and Anand in a Western suit and tie, were announced.  They were thrilled to continue their celebration and danced to the center of the room.

To entertain the guests and educate them about some of traditions surrounding engagement and marriage for Mono’s family, her relatives demonstrated some of the traditions and explained them to the audience.  Then Anand picked up a microphone and explained how thrilled he was to be married to Mono and how excited he was about their honeymoon in Bali.

Modern music filled the air and everyone began to dance.  They lifted the bride and groom up onto their shoulders in celebration.   The fun continued long into the night.

We’ve been producing wedding videos for over a decade.  In that time we’ve recorded the weddings of a wide variety of cultures and traditions from around the world.   Because Mona and Arnand’s wedding was a unique pairing of two different traditions, we used our experience to predict what would come next.

We thoroughly enjoyed the cavalcade of beautiful clothing, delicious food, professional entertainers and elaborate rituals we observed.  Turning what we filmed into a wedding video that adequately represented the unbelievable two day spectacle was a rewarding challenge.  We were gratified by their excitement over the finished product.
