Claudia and Jared at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and Bent Tree Country Club

“It’s almost time,” Claudia said as she sat before a fireplace waiting for her wedding ceremony to begin.  Elsewhere in the church Jared enumerated all the things he loved about his bride.  Claudia and Jared were married at the beautiful St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in the historic Lakewood area of Dallas.  Their reception was held at elegant Bent Tree Country Club.

Claudia and Jared’s wedding day was a miracle of logistics coordinated by wedding planner Colleen Harkins.  The first vendor to report for duty was hair and make-up artist Brittany Jones.  She helped Claudia get ready at the bride’s parents’ house, while the guys dressed at the country club.  Then Romantic Remembrances conveyed the bridal party to the church in a limousine and the groom’s party in a bus.

Upon arrival at the church the wedding party was adorned by glorious floral arrangements from Garden Gate – bouquet and corsages for the ladies and boutonnieres for the men.  The florist provided arrangements for the pew ends, as well.  Meanwhile, Christopher Walker of Christographer  ( Formerly Lucky Pro Photography) captured the still shots while we were shooting audio and video.

At the appointed hour, the music of St. Thomas Acquinas’ legendary pipe organ filled the air as the father-of-the- bride walked Claudia down the aisle of the magnificent church.  Claudia looked stunning in a strapless, shirred-satin, fit-an-flare gown with crystal accents at the empire waist and just above the knee.  As Jared escorted her to the altar he couldn’t resist telling her how lovely she looked.

After the wedding, guests headed to Bentree for cocktail hour where other vendors had everything ready.  Linen Hero provided the table and chair covers, Absolute Entertainment set up the lighting and a Creative Events had a photo booth waiting.  Meanwhile Christopher took the post-wedding photographs.  Then Romantic Remembrances transported the couple, the bridal party and their families to the country club.

A little Italian flavor entered the celebrations after the wedding party was announced by the Ice House Band.  For the First Dance the bride and groom swayed to the sounds of Al Martino singing “I Have But One Heart.”  The Italian flavor continued as Claudia danced with her dad to the “Godfather Waltz.”

After Jared danced with his mother to “What a Wonderful Life,” the bride and groom finally got a chance to relax and enjoy dinner.  After dinner they slipped away for a wardrobe change.  This time Claudia had on a smooth satin shirtwaist dress with short, full skirt, accented with a sequined belt.  Now she could really enjoy the high energy sounds of the live band.

When the celebration were over, the cake cutting, the bouquet toss, the garter toss and all the dancing, Claudia departed the country club through rows of sparklers and rode away in a vintage Daimler to Hotel ZaZa where their honeymoon suite awaited.

Two Lenicam videographers arrived at Claudia and Jared’s wedding an hour and a half before the ceremony.  There’s a lot to set up to properly capture a wedding.  We had videocamers, tripods, lights and audio equipment to manage.  We also took the opportunity to coordinate with the other vendors and the church’s wedding coordinator, so things will go smoothly during the day.

One of the cameras we set up was our custom-designed proprietary camera with remote control.  This one-of-a-kind equipment allows us to have a camera recording at the front of the church.  Because no other Dallas Wedding Videographer else has this equipment, we are the only ones who can get footage at the front of St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Once everything was in place the cameramen split up to capture the pre-wedding activities, so later Claudia and Jared could enjoy watching the first part of each other’s wedding day together.  For the ceremony, one videographer stood at the back of the church for shots from the audience’s point of view, while another camera was hidden out of site near the front to get the close-ups during the ceremony.

After the ceremony, one camera leap-frogged ahead to the reception, while the other stayed behind to capture the fun of the photo shoot.  After the photos the second cameraman joined the reception.  With two cameras at the reception, we were able to keep one camera focused on the bride and groom, while the other camera went around and captured well-wishes from the guests.

When the night is over, we take all the audio and video footage back to our studio to create a wedding video for the couple, their family and their friends to enjoy for all the days of their marriage.

“You can’t kiss me yet,” Chinye warned when Osagie spontaneously hugged her during their vows. The kiss would come later and what a kiss is was! Chinye and Osagie were married at the beautiful and architecturally-significant Marty Leonard Chapel  in Fort Worth, Texas .

For her wedding day Chinye chose a white satin ball gown with a sweetheart neckline, worn with a short-sleeved bolero jacket. The shirred fabric of her drop-waist bodice hugged her torso and a jeweled belt emphasized her waistline. Opaque appliquéd flowers dusted her sweetheart neckline. On the full skirt of the gown, shirred satin eased into softer folds strewn with pearls.

Chinye’s bridesmaids wore sleeveless chiffon gowns in a rich plum color. The honor attendant wore the same gown in lavender. The attendants carried bouquets of white hydrangeas and stepped out in sliver shoes. The bride’s bouquet was filled with plum and lavender roses.

The wedding ceremony began with a parade of rambunctious young fellows in tuxedos carrying a series of signs informing Uncle Osagie that his bride, Aunt Chinye, was about to appear. The doors of the chapel were closed as the flower girl in her frilly white ball gown solemnly made her way down the aisle. Then the doors opened for the beautiful bride.
The audience was filled with guests wearing colorful cultural clothing inspired in Africa. The bride’s family wore deep blues and purples, while the groom’s side favored crimson and peach. Everyone sang lovely hymn accompanied by a live harpist.

Chinye carried the music into her vows by singing a passage from Lamentations to her groom, but she was too emotional to finish on her own. The congregation joined her for the final portion as her anxious groom wiped away her copious tears. She bravely continued by reading a passage from the Book of Ruth. During Osagie’s vows he promised to provide “very tender loving care,” something he’d already demonstrated when he wiped away her tears. Coming to the end of his vows he was so overcome with emotion that he grabbed his bride up in a hug – that’s when she warned him to save the kiss for later.

The couple included the lighting of a unity candle in their service, leaving the tapers of each family glowing after the unity candle was lit to indicate that their strong family ties would continue. Then finally it was time for the kiss.
Osagie grabbed his bride up in a passionate embrace which caused the young groomsmen to react with exaggerated animation, jumping into the air and hiding their eyes. The audience voiced their approval and as the kiss continued, the maid of honor exclaimed, “Alright! Get it on!”

All that Chinye could say after being released from the extended embrace was, “Oh Baby!” The couple’s joy was so great they danced through their guests during their exit.

Between the ceremony and reception the newly married couple was joined by their wedding party for formal photos. The exuberant nephews were irrepressible, climbing all over the bride and groom as the photographer struggled to get the perfect shot. Finally everyone reunited at Mira Vista Country Club for the lively reception.

A towering cake of lacy icing with purple orchids cascading down the side dominated the room. After cutting their cake, sharing a first dance and tossing the bouquet and garter, the bride and groom made a wardrobe change, returning to the room in outfits in the African tradition. Chinye wore a headdress and top in plum matched with a white wrap skirt and shawl. Osagie was all in white. As they stepped onto the floor and began to dance, their guests rushed to crowd around them, showering them with money.
The couple made another wardrobe change, this time choosing cultural clothes in various tones of brown, the color they had chosen for the new family they had formed. Their guest waved sparklers as the couple made their way to a beautiful white Camaro convertible and drove off into the night.

Our videographers captured this sweet ceremony with a pair of professional grade HD videocameras. One of the cameras was our custom-designed proprietary camera. That’s how we got the intimate shots of the couple’s vows and captured the exuberant responses of the wedding party to that kiss. It seems as if our cameraman must have been standing just behind Osagie, but instead our camera was hidden from sight among the beautiful floral arrangements and the cameraman did his work remotely from the back of the church, watching the scene unfold on a monitor.

We were able to clearly record Chinye’s voice as it faded away during her sung hymn, because we had a wireless microphone of Osagie’s lapel. The microphones on the cameras picked up the soft voices of the congregation as they finished the psalm. In the video it flows smoothly, just as it did at the ceremony, however, the effect was only achieved by careful editing and mixing.

Country Club Reception with a DJ

Brett and Lisa said their vows at St Catherine Sienna Catholic Church in Carrollton, Texas. Their relative, a brand new priest, officiated his first wedding ceremony. He made the couple, and the audience, feel very welcome and comfortable. The reception followed with a DJ at the Castle Hills Golf Club in Lewisville, Texas.

St. Catherine Sienna Catholic Church has semicircle seating. This was important to us as we chose which camera from our extensive inventory we would take to Brett and Lisa’s wedding.  We selected our custom-designed proprietary  remote camera.  This camera can be situated out of the audience’s line of sight, but very close to the bride and groom.  That way we can get tight close-ups during the vows, while the cameraman operates the equipment from the back of the church.

Some things we can plan for, others we can’t.  At this wedding, it was a very windy day.  So we took advantage of the breeze and recorded some very nice scenes of Lisa veil blowing in the wind.

Thomas married Madison at Castle Hills Golf Club in Lewisville, TX. The beautiful bride and handsome groom gathered with family and friends on Independence morning for their wedding, because they first met on a Fourth of July. The Castle Hills Golf Club is a beautiful setting with large picture windows looking out over a valley of manicured golf course. The reception followed with a great celebration and a DJ.

Our challenge at this wedding was the large windows.  While they created a beautiful background for the ceremony, they also  produced a large backlight for our front camera angle. We recorded in a way to preserve the light levels of the faces, and then took the video back to our studies to fine tune the footage.  The final video showed all of the bride’s emotions and expressions.

Thoughtful Bride Honors Many Traditions at Country Club Wedding

Leanna wasn’t taking any chances on her wedding day.  From pinning something old on her petticoat to a sixpence taped on her shoe, she took all the proper bridal precautions.  Then after a final application of lip gloss, she marched right out and married Tim at Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco.

Leanna was dazzling on her wedding day in a bright-white strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline.  The bodice was covered in crystal beads sewn into a floral lace pattern and the A-line skirt was a series of vertical organza ruffles.  Even her fingertip veil was edged in crystals.  Still, her smile was her most beautiful accoutrement.

As the wedding party made their way into the ceremony, the ring bearer appeared to be exasperated by the whole process.  He stomped down the aisle with his arms crossed and the ring pillow shoved to the side.  He was followed down the aisle by a flower girl who shared none of his angst.  She almost floated down the aisle with joy.

Leanna and Tim wrote their vows for one another, which were both meaningful and humorous.  The touching ceremony included the lighting of a unity candle. After announcing the couple man and wife, the officiant got in on the humor, declaring them Mr. and Mrs. Little Timothy Navin when tall broad-shouldered groom was anything but little.

It was easy to see that Leanna had put a lot of thought into the celebration.  Along with her pre-wedding ministrations, the programs were “Wedding Activity Books” and the guests located their table for the reception with personalized luggage tags.

It was also easy to see this couple was devoted to fun.  The wedding cake topper was bride and groom figurines carrying signs.  The groom’s sign said, “Mr. Right,” while the bride’s sign declared she was “Mrs. Always Right.”  Instead of the standard tiered wedding cake, they served a table full of decorated one-layer cakes.  When the couple cut their cake the ritual almost turned into a food fight.  Another laughter-filled moment of the day was the Newlywed Shoe Game where both spouse admitted that Leanna made the first move.

The good times continued through the garter toss.  Little Timothy tossed the garter onto a ledge which hid the indirect lighting overhead.  Even Little Timothy couldn’t reach it.  Not to worry – the ever-prepared bride just happened to have a second garter.

As the guests said farewell with bubbles, the bride and groom played one more prank.  Tim’s mother drove up in her SUV and when they drove away, Mom and bride were in the front seat, while Tim pouted in the back seat.

Leanna and Tim chose our wedding package with two videographers.  That allows us to record the wedding from two different perspectives and weave them together at our studio through editing and mixing.  In this highlight film, we also wove their vows together to show the essence of their vows without taking time to reproduce the entire exchange.  The camera which provided the close-ups was actually a proprietary remote control camera.  It sat near the front, outside  of the line of sight and without the movements of a cameraman to distract from the ceremony.

Another trick we’ve learned in all these years of wedding videography is that the audio portion of a wedding is as important as what you see.  So we put a lapel microphone on the groom.  This trick helped up pick up the heart-warming and funny-bone tickling vows.  We also got to listen is as the bride and groom serenaded one another in the first dance.

Kayse and Clayton – Alliance Church of Christ in Justin and Wildhorse Golf Club

Clayton took seven years to decide whether or not Kayse was the woman he wanted to marry.  It took only seconds for the tears to come when he saw her standing at the door of the church.  Before the pastor could even get to the vows, the whole wedding party was sharing crumpled tissues and wide grins.  Kayse and Clayton were married at Alliance Church of Christ in Justin.

Pretty Kayse looked lovely in her white satin gown with intricately beaded bodice and full, pickup-accented skirt.  Her strapless sweetheart neckline highlighted her crystal jewelry and the jewels trimming the scalloped edges of her multi-layered veil.   Her bridesmaids wore long black dresses in a variety of styles.  The bouquets were red and white roses wrapped in white satin ribbon.

Kayse lassoed a handful when she married Justin.  Whether line dancing with his groomsmen before the ceremony or insisting on wearing oversized glasses for the formal portraits – Justin heads into life humor first.  Kayse’s not intimidated in the least by his antics and gives as good as she gets.  When icing from the wedding cake made its way to her face, she made sure a little ended up on his face, too.

The reception was at held at Wildhorse Country Club.  The couple’s beautiful white-on-white wedding cake featured square tiers stacked one upon the other with alternating patterns of decoration.  Some layers were polka-dotted with dabs of icing, while others were covered in filigree scrolls.  Nose-gays of live roses were sprinkled up the sides of the cake and then more roses sprang from the top layer.  The finishing touch was a slim silver heart.

Along with the beautiful cake, the couple provided a candy buffet for their guests.  Maybe the shared sugar high was the reason the dance floor was so busy.  There were spotlight dances, line dancing and even troupe performances.  The high energy dancers all wore high intensity smiles.  At the end of the evening, guests waved sparklers in the air as the effervescent couple escaped to their waiting limo.

When Kayse planned her wedding, she decided the only light she wanted for the ceremony was string lights and candles.  In theory it sounded romantic and wonderful.  In practice, the darkness made it almost impossible for guests to see the front of the church.  We convinced Kayse to let us add some light from our cameras.  It turned out to be a real win-win situation.  As you can see in the video, the mood for the ceremony is still romantic, however with our lights on the guests could see the ceremony, we had enough light to record and the minister could read his notes.

We’ve been videographing wedding for more than a decade, so we’re used to last minute changes.  In fact, almost every wedding requires flexibility, innovation and cooperation between the vendors.  Sometimes the bride never knows how close her wedding came to a disaster.  At other times when the solution runs counter to what we know the bride wants, we’ll get her permission – like we did with Kayse.

On the day of her wedding, Kayse was glad we were able to offer a solution that allowed her to keep the mood she wanted for her ceremony.  When Kayse and Trent saw their video they were delighted.  We’re glad it will be a part of their lives for all the years to come.

Star Trek, Gaming Icons and Peacocks – Canyon Creek Country Club in Richardson

Erin and John believe that on your special day you should surround yourself with the people and things you love.  So with family and friends they enjoyed a wedding day full of peacocks, gaming icons and a little Star Trek.  Erin and John were married at Canyon Creek Country Club in Richardson.

Erin’s white duchess satin wedding dress was fit for a queen.  The dress was liberally decorated with crystals and lace and featured a corset closing.  Inset into the waist and the train were panels of silk-embroidered black velvet.  Glittering brooches were gathered into bouquet for the bride to carry.  With bridesmaids dressed in deep sapphire gowns and peacock feathers abounding, the wedding was a royal affair.  The guys’ boutonnieres were made of peacock feathers held in place by a Star Trek emblem.

The ceremony took place under a white canopy tied with sapphire ropes.  Guests sat in white folding chairs and a metal peacock guarded the back of the church.  The bride and groom gazed lovingly into one another’s eyes throughout their vows.  A binding of their hands symbolized the joining of their lives.  Then a passionate kiss sealed their promises.  After the ceremony, Photography by Clarence gathered the wedding party for still photos.

More royal treatment awaited the guests at the reception.  Rich teal and purple dominated the room.  Elaborate floral decorations with peacock feathers graced the tables.  The layered wedding cake, decorated in bands of rhinestones, also gave a nod to their techie-gaming theme.  The bride and groom figurines topping the cake were robots, a gear decorated one layer and gaming cubes another.  The grooms cake feature ninja throwing stars and a pair of gaming consoles.  At the end of the evening, with guests waving streamers and blowing bubbles, Erin and John got into their car and drove away.

This wedding highlight video barely scratches the surface of what we deliver to our couples.  It’s only a few minutes gleaned from a full length DVD (BluRay is also available).  What’s more, for it to load quickly on the internet, we had to reduce the quality.

We spent the whole day at Erin and John’s wedding, arriving an hour and a half before the ceremony and only loading up our equipment after they’d driven away.  We had hours of video coverage and multiple tracks of audio when we were through.  Over the next few weeks we pored over the footage at our studio, mixing and editing the video and audio portions to create a unique wedding video.  Then we turned the demo over to the couple for their edits.

When we got the final OK from the couple we created a personalized DVD with photos from the wedding on the cover and disc.  The DVD includes personalized menus and multiple audio tracks, just like a Hollywood DVD would.  Then five copies of the completed DVD were delivered to Erin and John.

We still weren’t through.  We loaded this highlight on the internet so family and friends could view and download it.  We also store the footage of the DVD on our secure server so additional or replacement copies are always available.

Jenna and Casey’s Love Story

LeniCam Love Story Video is an Important Part of the Celebration

From the bride’s radiant smile to the couple’s fiery sparkler send-off, Jenna and Casey enjoyed a dazzling wedding day.

The historic First United Methodist Church in Downtown Dallas provided an elegant venue for the couple’s ceremony.  A venerable old building with unique architectural touches, the church holds its own among the shiny new skyscrapers.

Throughout the day, the effervescent bride also held her own in a stunning, off- the- shoulder ivory satin, gown, heavily encrusted with lace, bedazzled with jewels and complimented by her bridesmaid’s chic black lace dresses.  Instead of a bouquet, she chose to carry an ivory fan decorated with white roses and a white lace bow.

Coming down the aisle with her father, the bride displayed her eagerness to marry her handsome groom.  His big grin, at his first sight of her, communicated his own zest for the nuptials.  Their resounding kisses at the end of the ceremony were followed by many more as the night progressed.

The wedding party traveled from the ceremony to an exuberant reception at Canyon Creek Country Club in a Citi Sedan Party Bus. Tiers of decorated cupcakes surrounded by bon bons and cake-pops were served to the guests, while Jenna and Casey shared a small cake iced with colorful swirls.

Because the couple frolicked through their day, giggling during their vows and spontaneously delivering and demanding kisses, it’s no surprise they offered a photo booth with crazy props to their guests  or chose a DJ who creatively recognized special members of the audience.

As the night drew to a close and the guests waved farewell with their sparklers, Jenna stopped to express her love for her family and friends, one more time.  With her fingers forming a heart, she made a slow turn, looking deeply into the eyes of her well-wishers.

Capturing details, like the bride’s ivory fan bouquet, her luminous be-jeweled gown, the unity candle ceremony and the couple’s boundless joy is our responsibility. The Photo Fun segment, in this Highlights Video, displays amusing moments caught between the still photographer’s formal poses.

This couple also hired us to do a Love Story Video to be shown during their celebrations.  These video are always enjoyed by the guests and then the couple has it to enjoy as a part of their wedding video.

We arrive early to set up special video equipment which sees and hears everything, while remaining virtually invisible to participants, officiants and guests.  We placed a remote camera, out of the line of sight, to capture the bride’s giggles during the vows. Then the cameraman used a balcony vantage point to record dramatic shots of the ceremony impossible for guests to imagine.  To capture special spoken memories we used a small wireless microphone hidden on the groom. As a result, we were everywhere, and caught everything, but quietly and unobtrusively.

The groom was very nonchalant about the prospect of getting married until he saw his bride and then tears of joy began to flow.  David and his groomsmen arrived at Willow Bend Church in a long stretch Hummer and the antics began.  A much more sedate Kelly arrived in a black stretch limousine.  Kelly and David were married at  the church he attended, Willow Bend Church in Plano.

Kelly looked lovely in her lace gown with a Queen Anne neckline and buttons down the back.  Her tulle fingertip veil was edged with beaded lace.  She carried a bright red bouquet of roses, amaryllis, anemones and peonies.  The church was awash in poinsettias which lent a festive air to the ceremony.

As if the sight of his beautiful bride was not enough to bring tears to the groom, the father-of-the-bride made a charge to David which was pretty daunting.  “Love her with all your heart, buddy,” Dad said.  David answered, “Will do.”

Photographer Susan Gilbert made the post-ceremony photo session a lot of fun with her creative poses.   Then everyone headed to Glen Eagles Country Club for the reception where sweet-toothed guests had plenty to keep them occupied.  The multi-tiered wedding cake looked as if it were covered in fresh snow on which ice crystals were beginning to form.  A chocolate fondant limb grew up the side of the cake sprouting red fondant poinsettias.  Also on hand were delicious Christmas Sugar Cookies home-baked by Kelly and David’s friends and family.

The dance floor was a hive of activity.  The guests filled the floor for an energetic  line dance.  Then Kelly led them in a conga line.  The bride changed into street clothes, but stopped by the dance floor for some air guitar action before grabbing her groom and heading outside.  The guests showered the couple with faux snow which looked very, very real as the flurries swirled around the bride and groom.

To set the mood for Kelly and David’s wedding, candles were the only lighting in the church.  The only other light came from the hall.  The shadowy church worked to our advantage from one standpoint, because it allowed our cameraman to be invisible as he stood in the front of the church.  At the same time, the darkness creating a shadowy bride.  Our experience with this sort of setting allowed us to know what settings to use to compensate for the darkness and show the bride’s lovely face.

Another trick we’ve developed over the years is the use of a lapel microphone on the groom.  When we started using the technology the goal was to get a clear audio recording of the vows.  What we discovered is that we’re also able to get precious whispered sentiments that the PA system or a hand-held mic would miss.  That’s how the viewer knows what the father of the bride said to David as the ceremony began.

Another thing we’re proud of is the professional studio where we took all the audio and video we recorded at Kelly and David’s wedding.  Over a period of weeks we edited and mixed these recordings to create a unique video Kelly and David can enjoy all the days of their marriage.

Bradley stood at the end of the aisle, seriously contemplating what he was about to undertake.  Then his eyes fell on Haley and a smile lit up his face.  Haley and Bradley were married at Hackberry Creek Country Club in Irving.

Catching sight of Haley on her wedding day was enough to make anyone smile.  The lace bodice of her ball gown tucked into a wide satin sash and the pleated satin skirt billowed out below.  A full veil fell from her updo.  She carried a bouquet of mixed purple flowers highlighted with calla lilies, stephanotis and small green chrysanthemums.

The ceremony was lovely and heartfelt.  You can see the couple’s earnestness during the vows.  The couple participated in a sand-pouring ceremony to symbolize how their previously separate lives were now becoming one.

Once the ceremony was behind them, a lighter mood settled onto the newlywed man and wife.  They joked with one another during the formal photography session and were both radiantly happy as they strolled into the reception.

Their reception was a very tempting affair.  The wedding cake, topped with decorated cakeballs starred in a dessert bar complete with a chocolate fountain.  However, the dance floor seemed to be an even bigger temptation; it stayed busy all night long.  The bride and groom were in the center of things, oftentimes providing the musical entertainment themselves.

The final song was the Star Wars theme song.  The couple escaped through a shower of bubbles to their SUV which had been decorated with a number of Star Wars references.  Come to think of it, did you notice how much Haley resembled Princess Leia?

The Force was certainly with Haley and Bradley on their wedding day.  Our videographer was glad our tripods have wheels as he followed the energetic couple.  One of our goals during the wedding was to be everywhere, recording everything and everyone all the time.  Another goal was to be virtually invisible.  That’s the reason we chose to use a professional grade HD videocameras.

We believe the bride and groom should be the stars of their day – especially on the actual wedding day.  Our larger cameras allow us to stay in the background and zoom in and out for our shots, while maintaining the highest of video quality.  A cameraperson using a DSLR would have had to stay close to the Haley and Bradley throughout the day.  Wherever the guests saw Haley and Bradley, they would have also been looking at the camera-person.  We wanted a better experience for everyone.

In a wedding video, sounds are as important as sounds.  So the video will sound as good as it looks, we use a variety of microphones and audio feeds.  We want every word to be crystal clear.
