LeniCam Love Story Video is an Important Part of the Celebration

From the bride’s radiant smile to the couple’s fiery sparkler send-off, Jenna and Casey enjoyed a dazzling wedding day.

The historic First United Methodist Church in Downtown Dallas provided an elegant venue for the couple’s ceremony.  A venerable old building with unique architectural touches, the church holds its own among the shiny new skyscrapers.

Throughout the day, the effervescent bride also held her own in a stunning, off- the- shoulder ivory satin, gown, heavily encrusted with lace, bedazzled with jewels and complimented by her bridesmaid’s chic black lace dresses.  Instead of a bouquet, she chose to carry an ivory fan decorated with white roses and a white lace bow.

Coming down the aisle with her father, the bride displayed her eagerness to marry her handsome groom.  His big grin, at his first sight of her, communicated his own zest for the nuptials.  Their resounding kisses at the end of the ceremony were followed by many more as the night progressed.

The wedding party traveled from the ceremony to an exuberant reception at Canyon Creek Country Club in a Citi Sedan Party Bus. Tiers of decorated cupcakes surrounded by bon bons and cake-pops were served to the guests, while Jenna and Casey shared a small cake iced with colorful swirls.

Because the couple frolicked through their day, giggling during their vows and spontaneously delivering and demanding kisses, it’s no surprise they offered a photo booth with crazy props to their guests  or chose a DJ who creatively recognized special members of the audience.

As the night drew to a close and the guests waved farewell with their sparklers, Jenna stopped to express her love for her family and friends, one more time.  With her fingers forming a heart, she made a slow turn, looking deeply into the eyes of her well-wishers.

Capturing details, like the bride’s ivory fan bouquet, her luminous be-jeweled gown, the unity candle ceremony and the couple’s boundless joy is our responsibility. The Photo Fun segment, in this Highlights Video, displays amusing moments caught between the still photographer’s formal poses.

This couple also hired us to do a Love Story Video to be shown during their celebrations.  These video are always enjoyed by the guests and then the couple has it to enjoy as a part of their wedding video.

We arrive early to set up special video equipment which sees and hears everything, while remaining virtually invisible to participants, officiants and guests.  We placed a remote camera, out of the line of sight, to capture the bride’s giggles during the vows. Then the cameraman used a balcony vantage point to record dramatic shots of the ceremony impossible for guests to imagine.  To capture special spoken memories we used a small wireless microphone hidden on the groom. As a result, we were everywhere, and caught everything, but quietly and unobtrusively.

When dental hygienist, Amanda, told Charbel to open wider, she was talking about his mouth, not his heart.  But Charbel couldn’t help himself – he fell in love anyway.

He kept coming back to the dentist’s office time and again, whether he needed work on his teeth or not – and finally won the girl of his dreams. Amanda and Charbel were married in an outdoor ceremony at the iconic Magnolia Hotel in Downtown Dallas.

The wedding aisle was decorated with black iron lanterns topped with large tulle bows.  Guests sat in rows of white folding chairs.  At the ends of the rows, balls of green vegetation hung on pink ribbons. Dominating the scene was a large flowing waterfall.

A tiny, tuxedoed ring-bearer and a precious flower girl with a big blue bow, preceded Amanda down the aisle. The groom grinned widely when his beautiful bride appeared.  She wore a satin, sequin-embroidered, fit-and-flare gown, with a ruffled skirt and train, complimented by a lace-trimmed veil and satin belt with crystal ornament.  Hiding under the dress were electric blue shoes which matched the six bridesmaids’ one-shouldered dresses and the bow on the flower girl’s white dress.  Pink roses in the bride’s bouquet matched the pink ribbons on the ends of the pews.

The couple sealed their vows with communion wine sipped from an exquisite crystal chalice.  After formal portraits of the wedding party, guests proceeded next door, to the Pegasus Grand Ballroom in the Dallas Power and Light Building, a popular venue for Magnolia brides.

At the reception, guests celebrated Charbel’s Syrian heritage in song and in dance.  During a lively version of the Newlywed Game, the couple indicated their answers by raising shoes into the air – a black oxford stood for Charbel and the electric blue pump for Amanda.  The bride’s bouquet flew into the arms of an excited friend and Charbel flew under Amanda’s gown for her garter, but when said garter flew through the air, only the ring bearer showed any interest.

Live flowers on the wedding cake echoed the flowers in Amanda’s bouquet.  The couple sipped champagne from crystal flutes tied with ribbon.   Exiting between rows of guests waving sparklers, Charbel said to Amanda, “I’m the happiest man on this planet right now.”  Amanda expressed similar sentiments.

The bride and groom were ready to go, but their horse and carraige was no where in sight.  So, Charbel’s friends broke into Boy Scout songs they once sang together in Syria.  Finally, the horse and carriage arrived to whisk away the bride and groom.

The LeniCam Difference – A Video Experience More Complete Than the Live Event

As Amanda and Charbel’s guests enjoyed the sights and sounds of the lovely outdoor wedding, with its flowing waterfall and dramatic skyline views, the guests automatically filtered out the sound of falling water and traffic noises from busy Dallas streets.  They also ignored beer-drinking tourists spying on the festivities from the sidewalk, even though the bride, her father and her attendants had to walk around the impromptu audience.  For the video to accomplish the same feat as the wedding guests, we spent hours electronically mixing and filtering a variety of camera and audio feeds recorded at the wedding. Though attendees might have some memory of the distractions, no hint shows up in the video.

At Amanda and Charbel’s wedding ceremony, the cameraperson focused on the bride and groom.  To capture the excitement and activity of the reception, the camera had to be everywhere, all the time, yet remain invisible to the celebrants.  As with the wedding, several audio and video feeds were necessary.  With meticulous devotion to detail we captured the  entwined arms of the Syrian dancers, important sentiments like Charbel’s confession of joy and the sound of the horse’s hooves as French Boy Scout songs faded into the night.

In a splendid wedding showcase, merging Hispanic and Nigerian wedding traditions, the radiantly beautiful Jennifer married the happy and handsome Casanova in a Catholic ceremony celebrated at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe in Downtown Dallas.

When the glowing Jennifer stepped out of a Hummer stretch limousine and onto the church’s steps, bright sunshine filled the streets of Dallas, igniting her white satin gown and bouquet of white roses. A gentle breeze teased at the edges of her cathedral-length veil.  A short-sleeved lace bolero complemented the strapless, empire bodice of beaded and sequined lace.  The rusched satin of the skirt was pulled up to her hip on one side by a bouquet of satin roses, revealing a beaded and sequined lace skirt underneath.  The train of her gown exploded into puffy ruffles below the corset closing.  Waiting at the altar was an eager bridegroom looking spectacular in his black tuxedo.  The beauty of the united couple was matched by the magnificent accoutrements of the historically-significant cathedral.

The bright colors of Nigerian bubas (tops), iro (skirts) and elaborate geles (headdresses) were sprinkled among the sea of guests, as were garments and accessories of deep sapphire blue, marking Jennifer’s family and attendants.

The love the couple felt for one another was easy to see as they vowed their lives to one another.  When the priest prompted Casanova with, “I will love you and honor you all the days of my life,” Casanova firmly added an “always” before “love”.  After the ceremony, the wedding party stopped on the portico of the cathedral for formal photography and there were so many attendants, they filled the stairway.

Jennifer and Casanova held their reception at the lovely Marriot Quorum where guests were greeted by a mariachi band.  The bride and groom were led to a stage, where they sat on thrones while being showered with blessings and prayers, some in the Nigerian native tongue.

Gorgeous floral displays adorned the tables and at each place setting guests found a gold favor box and a water bottle with the couple’s picture.  Each place setting also had a champagne flute and a shot glass, making guests aware that they could expect to have a good time at this party.  The guests showed their appreciation by showering the couple with money throughout the evening, going far beyond the boundaries of a money dance.

The couple stood next to the huge multi-tiered wedding cake, which was covered in silver flowers with white icing foliage, for the cake cutting ceremony.  Afterwards Casanova dipped Jennifer for a dramatic kiss.  Crystal monogrammed flutes waited for their toast.

After sharing a few more moments like the First Dance and the Bouquet and Garter Tosses, it was time for a wardrobe change.  Casanova appeared in a sapphire buba with intricate silver and gold embroidery in an emblem on his breast.  Jennifer wore a sapphire kaba (single-pieced dress) with a shawl and crown of kola nuts.  By appearing in these cultural clothes on their wedding day, they established their own colors for the new family they were beginning. Even Jennifer’s parents embraced the Nigerian tradition, wearing matching Nigerian cultural clothes in their own colors. Eventually the time came for Casanova and Jennifer to say good-bye and start their life together.

What a special day we had with Jennifer and Casanova and their unique celebration.  We were excited about capturing everything from the glowing bride on the cathedral steps to the beautiful panorama of Nigerian cultural clothes.  The trick is to be everywhere all the time, recording the sights and sounds of the day, while remaining invisible to the guests and participants.

Experience allows us to move quickly from the bright sunlight as the bride arrives, to the dimmed interior of the cathedral, all the while making adjustments on the fly to the lights and cameras.  Inside, we know where to stand between the huge columns, to record the bride as she walked down the aisle with her father, because we’ve done many weddings at this venerable old cathedral.  Experience has taught us to put a wireless mic on the groom, so that we can capture important phrases like Jennifer’s exclamation of “My husband,” as their car headed to the reception.

At the end of the day, we take all our footage and recordings back to the studio where they can be woven into a cinematic memory Jennifer and Casanova can enjoy in the years to come.

“This is Your Last Chance to Run,” read the banner carried by two small tuxedo-clad groomsmen.  They were followed a young flower girl carrying a banner declaring, “Here Comes the Bride.”  Richard showed no sign of running as the graceful Angela was escorted to his side.  Angela and Richard married on a blustery September afternoon among the trees and fountains of Avanti Fountain Place in Downtown Dallas. 

Standing before the dramatic cascading fountains Angela and Richard pledged their love to one another and then Richard went on to make further promises to Angela’s son.  The scene was both beautiful and touching.  Once the ceremony was over and the pictures were taken, everyone moved inside the Avanti Restaurant.

For her special day, the bride wore a strapless white satin gown with a sweetheart neckline and shirred styling, accented with sparkling crystal jewelry.  Peeking from beneath her gown were spectacular purple shoes which matched the bridesmaids’ gowns.  Purple flowers in the bouquets and floral displays pulled together the wedding’s chic styling.

Angela’s eye for detail could even be seen in the reception, like in her stunning multi-tiered wedding cake covered in intricate floral designs set off with tiny rows of crystals and groom’s cake shaped like a fire truck.  From  humorous banners at the beginning of the ceremony to fake mustaches donned by the bride and groom for their exit, this was a fun-filled wedding day.

At Angela and Richard’s ceremony, as lovely as the trees of Avanti Fountain Place were, their trunks seemed to block every camera angle without providing cover for our cameraperson.  Still, we managed to stay out of the guests’ line of sight while we recorded the ceremony.  Then back at our studio, we carefully edited out the distracting tree trunks.

We were also able to enhance the sound track of the video.  At the ceremony we placed special noise-reducing, wireless microphones on the minister, the groom and the trio of string musicians.  In the studio we wove these feeds into the video portions and used the music from the trio as a background for the whole day.  The finished product offers an experience more complete than anyone in the audience was able to enjoy on the day of the wedding.
