Claudia and Jared at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and Bent Tree Country Club

“It’s almost time,” Claudia said as she sat before a fireplace waiting for her wedding ceremony to begin.  Elsewhere in the church Jared enumerated all the things he loved about his bride.  Claudia and Jared were married at the beautiful St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in the historic Lakewood area of Dallas.  Their reception was held at elegant Bent Tree Country Club.

Claudia and Jared’s wedding day was a miracle of logistics coordinated by wedding planner Colleen Harkins.  The first vendor to report for duty was hair and make-up artist Brittany Jones.  She helped Claudia get ready at the bride’s parents’ house, while the guys dressed at the country club.  Then Romantic Remembrances conveyed the bridal party to the church in a limousine and the groom’s party in a bus.

Upon arrival at the church the wedding party was adorned by glorious floral arrangements from Garden Gate – bouquet and corsages for the ladies and boutonnieres for the men.  The florist provided arrangements for the pew ends, as well.  Meanwhile, Christopher Walker of Christographer  ( Formerly Lucky Pro Photography) captured the still shots while we were shooting audio and video.

At the appointed hour, the music of St. Thomas Acquinas’ legendary pipe organ filled the air as the father-of-the- bride walked Claudia down the aisle of the magnificent church.  Claudia looked stunning in a strapless, shirred-satin, fit-an-flare gown with crystal accents at the empire waist and just above the knee.  As Jared escorted her to the altar he couldn’t resist telling her how lovely she looked.

After the wedding, guests headed to Bentree for cocktail hour where other vendors had everything ready.  Linen Hero provided the table and chair covers, Absolute Entertainment set up the lighting and a Creative Events had a photo booth waiting.  Meanwhile Christopher took the post-wedding photographs.  Then Romantic Remembrances transported the couple, the bridal party and their families to the country club.

A little Italian flavor entered the celebrations after the wedding party was announced by the Ice House Band.  For the First Dance the bride and groom swayed to the sounds of Al Martino singing “I Have But One Heart.”  The Italian flavor continued as Claudia danced with her dad to the “Godfather Waltz.”

After Jared danced with his mother to “What a Wonderful Life,” the bride and groom finally got a chance to relax and enjoy dinner.  After dinner they slipped away for a wardrobe change.  This time Claudia had on a smooth satin shirtwaist dress with short, full skirt, accented with a sequined belt.  Now she could really enjoy the high energy sounds of the live band.

When the celebration were over, the cake cutting, the bouquet toss, the garter toss and all the dancing, Claudia departed the country club through rows of sparklers and rode away in a vintage Daimler to Hotel ZaZa where their honeymoon suite awaited.

Two Lenicam videographers arrived at Claudia and Jared’s wedding an hour and a half before the ceremony.  There’s a lot to set up to properly capture a wedding.  We had videocamers, tripods, lights and audio equipment to manage.  We also took the opportunity to coordinate with the other vendors and the church’s wedding coordinator, so things will go smoothly during the day.

One of the cameras we set up was our custom-designed proprietary camera with remote control.  This one-of-a-kind equipment allows us to have a camera recording at the front of the church.  Because no other Dallas Wedding Videographer else has this equipment, we are the only ones who can get footage at the front of St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Once everything was in place the cameramen split up to capture the pre-wedding activities, so later Claudia and Jared could enjoy watching the first part of each other’s wedding day together.  For the ceremony, one videographer stood at the back of the church for shots from the audience’s point of view, while another camera was hidden out of site near the front to get the close-ups during the ceremony.

After the ceremony, one camera leap-frogged ahead to the reception, while the other stayed behind to capture the fun of the photo shoot.  After the photos the second cameraman joined the reception.  With two cameras at the reception, we were able to keep one camera focused on the bride and groom, while the other camera went around and captured well-wishes from the guests.

When the night is over, we take all the audio and video footage back to our studio to create a wedding video for the couple, their family and their friends to enjoy for all the days of their marriage.

Lovely Afternoon Ceremony and Reception at Dallas Arboretum

Anna and Ben chose the beautiful Dallas Arboretum for their May wedding. The bright sunshine-filled day melted away into a warm Texas night full of music and laughter as family and friends celebrated the joyous occasion.

The graceful bride was a former Miss Texarkana. In her sleek trumpet gown was lovelier than the blooms in the glorious garden. Her strapless satin gown with its straight neckline hugged her sleek profile. Her tiny waist was highlighted by a satin ribbon with a crystal buckle. The tulle veil, trimmed in scalloped lace, fell to the same length as the cathedral train of her gown. She carried a large bouquet of pastel peonies.

Anna and her bridal party waited for the ceremony in the shade of a graceful arbor. As she approached her groom, she passed the reflecting infinity pool in A Women’s Garden, where it seemed the statue of the contemplative female turned to admire the bride. Across the lawn, Ben waited with the minister and the base of cascading fountains. Live strings were playing.

The emotional impact of the vows ruffled the bride, who had seemed so serene just moments before. She tripped over words and struggled to remember phrases, until she turned to Ben, who was sending her encouragement with his smile.

When the ceremony was over both the bride and groom relaxed, playfully bantering back and forth as the photographer put them through their paces. Then everyone congregated in a nearby courtyard, next to the Loggia for the energetic reception with live band and photo booth.

The wedding cake was a multi-tiered confection, surrounded by real peonies, trimmed with pink ribbon and topped off with hand-crafted sugar peonies. After cutting the cake and feeding each other a bite, the couple moved to the dance floor for their first dance and dances with their parents. After the formal spotlight dances were through, the band, Tenacity, warmed up the crowd and everyone came to the dance floor. Laura Schhindler of L’events (link) produced an outstanding event.

Anna and Ben’s outdoor wedding was a lot of fun and we had to utilize many of our videography skills. Take the bright sunshine for instance. While it made for a splendid wedding, it also created a situation in which Anna could have disappear into a shiny white blur – if our videographers hadn’t known exactly how to record the scene. Then after the sunset, there was the opposite problem and without the proper lighting, instead of happy figures rocking out to the sounds of the band, all that viewers would be able to see is dark shadows. During this video we can appreciate Anna’s warm smile, during the ceremony and on the dance floor.

We also had to take special care to get the audio right. Since the couple stood right in front of the cascading fountains during the ceremony, the words of their vows could have been lost in the sounds of water. We put a wireless microphone onto the groom to get every precious word of their vows, as well as the light-hearted banter during the photos.

Two sets of microphones were used to capture the sounds of the live strings. On the video there is no hint of the wind or the water.

Sarah and Kelly – All Saints Catholic Church and The Nuvo Room

“She’s perfect,” Kelly explained when the videographer asked about Sarah.  Could a bride ask for a better description?  Kelly and Sarah were married at All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas.

When his bride finally reached his side at the end of the aisle, Kelly said, “You look breath-taking.” She did look stunning in white satin covered in lacy tulle.  Her A-line gown with empire waist featured cap sleeves and a V-neck.  She carried a bouquet of purple and white flowers.  Her lace-edged finger-tip veil framed her beautiful smiling face.

The beauty of their Catholic ceremony was emphasized by the obvious joy they took in one another. Kelly, in particular was especially emphatic when making his vows to Sarah, while her smile lit up the room.  After the ceremony, the exuberant couple was full of fun as the photographer posed them, their family and their wedding party for shots.  Laura greeted everyone by introducing them to her husband.  So, Kelly introduced them to his wife.  Their comic quips to one another are charming.

At the reception, in the Farmers Branch’s Nuvo Room, exuberance grew into exhilaration.  When the bride and groom cut their cake, they painted one another faces with icing and then melted into laughter.    A delicious meal fueled guests and the wedding party for a night filled with dancing.  A live band kept a crowd on the dance floor and each face was smiling.

Eventually, the evening came to a close and the couple ventured out into the cold January evening where their guests pelted them with faux snow.  Sarah and Kelly hurried through the tossed pelting to the waiting limousine.

Sarah and Kelly enjoyed a marvelous wedding day, full of joy, laughter and love. The very best part just might be the on-going banter between the bride and groom.  One moment they have you laughing with them and the next they take your breath away with the depth of their love for one another.

These exchanges were captured by a wireless microphone on Kelly’s lapel.  We attached it before the ceremony and invited him to wear it through the night.  This is a part of our set-up for all weddings and we usually get some gems from the recordings, but rarely are we able to mine so many valuable nuggets.

After recording video and audio throughout the day, we return to our studio and pore over the footage for several weeks as we edit and mix the finished product.  We promised Sarah and Kelly that no matter what happened on their wedding day – both good and bad – they’d love their wedding video.  And they did.

Mary and Matthew – The Cooper Aerobics Center in Wedding Video Dallas TX

The bride was beautiful and the groom was handsome, but the father stole the show.  During the reception he sang the bride a lullaby – a Beatles song for which he wrote new lyrics.  Mary married Matthew along the creek at the Cooper Aerobics Center in Dallas, with the blessing and love of her very special father.

Mary looked lovely in her ivory satin dress with sleek contemporary styling.  Devoid of distracting decorations, the full skirt fit onto a corset bodice with a sweetheart neckline.  Sheer illusion was attached to the bodice to form cap sleeves and continued down to her waist with satin covered buttons.  The stunning gown was made by Mary’s  mom.

Before he sang the lullaby with the live band, Jurassic Rock, the father told his guests when Mary was six years old she’d told him she wanted to get married in a field.  He made her childhood wish come true in a wedding day full of entertainments.  Under the reception marquee, guests were treated to a delicious buffet meal.  They could record memories of the wedding day in a photo booth complete with props or sit for a portrait by a caricaturist. Croquet and a bean bag toss were also available. Even the six year old Mary would have approved.

After their incredible day, Mary and Matthew strolled away hand in hand along the creek, with the lights of the evening reflecting into the water.  With one final wave they said good-bye to their guests and headed into their new life together.

Mary and Matthew’s wedding was spread out over several acres of the Cooper Aerobics Center.  Being everywhere and capturing all the sights and sounds while remaining invisible to the guests and participants in the outdoor setting required a lot of fancy footwork , technology and experience.  We wanted to capture all of Mary’s field of dreams.

When we came back to our studio and reviewed the video and audio we recorded that day, we knew we wanted Mary’s father’s song to be at the core of it.  We edited and mixed the footage, weaving the song in between all the special moments of the day.  Another editing trick we used was to insert the groom’s vows with Mary’s vows so that it seems they are repeating them to one another without the clergy’s prompting.

We tell our brides that no matter what happens on their wedding day, good and bad, they are going to love their wedding video.  Mary and Matthew’s wedding day was full of good things, giving us a lot of special moments to choose from when making their video and when we were done, they loved it.

Lindsay and Justin – Hall of State Wedding at Fair Park in Wedding Video Dallas TX

Dallas’ Fair Park is a treasury of beautiful Art Deco buildings dating from the time of the 1936 Texas Centennial.  Lindsay and Justin chose the Hall of State, easily the grandest of the remaining architectural wonders, for the site of their December wedding.

The gorgeous bride was stunning in her trumpet-styled lace gown with a Queen Anne Neckline and Keyhole back.  The skirt of the gown was a jubilant explosion of tulle ruffles.  Her crystal chandelier earrings featured large stones set in gold which complimented the large gold bangle bracelet set with pave gems at her wrist.  Finishing her bridal ensemble was a tulle veil in two layers – one cathedral length to follow her down the aisle and the other fingertip length, which she wore over her face for her entrance.  Her bouquet was a mixture of white roses and white peonies.  Lindsay’s bridesmaids wore a variety of gowns, some in soft dewy pink and the others in a subtle taupe.

The distinctive venue looked resplendent for the occasion.  The Texas limestone walls, fluted columns and unique chandeliers set a dramatic scene.  Guest picked up their programs from a lace-covered table with large silver candelabra topped with white hydrangeas.  The ceremony was flanked by enormous flower arrangements featuring pink and white roses with hydrangeas.

When the ceremony was over, guests moved to another part of the building where an exquisite wedding cake waited.  The bottom layer was covered in smooth gold fondant.  The next appeared to be wrapped in white lace below a thinner layer wrapped in gold lace.  The penultimate layer had neat taupe and white stripes topped with a bouquet of three gold flowers.  The final layer was simply covered in smooth white fondant.  The accompanying groom’s cake looked like a recently abandoned poker game.

Lindsay and Justin looked very comfortable and very accomplished during their First Dance to a recording of Sam Cooke’s Stand By Me.  A live band waited to entertain the guests.  Lindsay was a frequent face on the dance floor, deftly handling a flute of champagne.  Shortly after Lindsay led the way, dancers crowded the floor and stayed there throughout the evening.

As their special day drew to a close, Lindsay wrapped up in a white fur stole and departed with Justin down the many steps of the Hall of State.  At the bottom of the steps guests showered the couple with glitter as they entered the white vintage Rolls Royce waiting to whisk them away.

As you watch Lindsay and Justin’s wedding video, one thing is very clear; a lot of planning went into the execution of the glorious event.  One of our goals was to record every well-planned detail – from the magnificent lighting on the exterior of the Hall of State to the engraved shot glass favors lined up for the guests, each glass with a shiny pastel ornament inside.

To capture the ceremony we used two cameras.  One camera on a tripod at the back of the audience with a videographer directly manipulating it and another camera at the front.  The camera at the front has an extra tall tripod so that we could film outside the line of sight, but still be out of the way.

We also provided the sound system for this ceremony.  This is not something all brides need, since many venues have this as a part of their package, but we were glad we were able to accommodate Lindsay in this way.  She needed microphones for the minister, readers and musicians and loudspeakers. The equipment was already in our inventory and we have plenty of experience.

This wedding was seven years in the making.  First Margaret and Tony were friends.  Then they lived in different states for several years.  Finally, love conquered all.  Margaret and Tony were married in Dallas at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.  No wonder Margaret sang Etta James’ “At Last” to her husband at the reception.

The Greek Orthodox Church has a rich visual tradition and Holy Trinity reflects the best parts of it.  The beautiful church with its stunning iconography and amazing architecture was a gorgeous backdrop for the wedding.  The ceremony, rich in symbolic rituals, was extremely meaningful.

Still, the lovely bride was the star of the show.  Her brocade gown with sweetheart neckline and cap sleeves was covered in sparkling crystals.  The lace-trimmed, cathedral-length veil seemed to wrap her in magic.  Under her veil, large crystal ornaments held her hair in place and crystal earrings dangled from her ears.

Margaret and Tony were supported on their wedding day by a large group of friends and family, many of them were in the wedding party – ten bridesmaids and six groomsmen.  The bridesmaids wore long black dresses in a variety of styles, each with sparkling metallic pumps.  Margaret’s bouquet was made of white roses mixed with white tulips.  Each bridesmaid carried a bouquet of green orchids.

After the wedding, the wedding party posed for formal portraits by Caroline Jurgensen Photography.  You could tell everyone was happy and enjoying the honor of being a part of Margaret and Tony’s special day.

The reception was held in the social hall of the church which had been transformed into an elegant ballroom with gilt bamboo-style chairs, crisp white linens, large white floral arrangements and a live band playing scintillating Big Band Era dance music.  The name of the band was Downtown Fever and Margaret once sang with them.  She stopped the show when she joined them to belt out the classic torch song for her beloved Tony.

The beautiful wedding cake, which looked as if it had been wrapped in yards of lace climbed tall with five layers of cake and three layers of pink silk roses.  Whether they were cutting their cake or dancing their first dance, it was easy to tell how in love the couple is.  When the evening was over, Margaret and Tony strolled through a shower of pink rose petals to a Bentley convertible and drove away.

Margaret and Tony’s wedding day was a feast for the senses, both sight and sound.  In order to convey that through video, our videographers had to be everywhere, all the time, from an hour and a half before the wedding to the moment the couple rode away in the convertible.  Because we use professional grade HD vidoecameras, we’re able to stay at the edge of the crowd and still get every detail of the bride’s happy face.  Because the couple hired two cameras for the wedding and reception, we were able to record more footage and produce a video which rivals a Hollywood production.

Along with our cameras we use a variety of microphones and audio feeds.  For instance, Margaret’s song sounds as good as it does on the video because we recorded it directly from the audio feed, rather than depending on the cameras microphone which is better suited for ambient sounds or conversations happening right in front of it.

The people at the church were very good to work with.  The priest showed us where to plug into their audio system so we could get a direct audio feed of everything he said.  They were happy to let us record the ceremony, but they had one rule – no one in the audience could see us.  So, we hid behind a big pillar and were able to see the ceremony even better than some of the audience could.

After the wedding we took all the audio and video footage back to our studio and spend weeks editing and mixing it all to create a unique video for Margaret and Tony, as well has the brief highlights video shown here.

We told the bride and groom that no matter what happened on their wedding day – good or bad – they would love their video.  During the ceremony, one of the bridesmaids fainted, but you’d never know it by looking at the video.  The couple loved the finished product and can enjoy in all their years together.

Carola knew her parents would think Joseph was the one, because he was a nice Midwestern Catholic boy.  On a camping trip, Joseph’s sisters decided Carola was the one, because she didn’t flinch at his smelly hiking boots.  The families were right.  Carola and Joseph were married at Christ the King Catholic Church in Dallas.

The exquisite jewel-box church was the perfect background for the beautiful Carola in her ornate lace-encrusted fit-and-flare gown, with cap sleeves and a sweetheart neckline.  A lace-trimmed cathedral length veil cascaded from a small pearl cap and a beaded belt highlighted her trim waist.

With her veil covering her face, Carola seemed to float down the aisle on her father’s arm.  Giving his daughter to Joseph, the father expressed his joy at their union.  When the priest declared the couple man and wife, Joseph grabbed Carola up in an enthusiastic embrace and the audience broke out in an extended round of applause.

The celebration moved to the Park Cities Hilton where live musicians entertained with hits from the Big Band era for the formal spotlight dances.  The tall wedding cake looked as if it had been covered in lace and the final tier was topped with flowers.  Single guests battled eagerly for the chance to catch the bouquet or garter.  The party really heated up when a dj inspired everyone to get out on the dance floor.

The LeniCam videographer arrived at Christ the King Catholic Church an hour and a half before Carola and Joseph’s wedding to capture the sights and sounds of their special day.  The first job was to set up the professional-grade HD video camera.  The unique design of the church allowed our cameraman to hide up close to make close-ups of the vows without creating a distraction at the front of the church.  We also used a variety of microphones and audio feeds so we didn’t miss any of the sentiments expressed.

Throughout the celebration we went everywhere and recorded everything, but our goal was to remain invisible and avoid distracting from the stars of the day, Carola and Joseph.  Recording the audio and video footage is only part of our job.  We took the recordings back to our studio and in the ensuing weeks edited and mixed the material into a wedding video for the couple to cherish all the days of their marriage.

Cindy and Nop at Buddhist Center of Dallas and Crescent Hotel in Videography Wedding Dallas TX

The Buddhist Center of Dallas is a tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle of the Metroplex.  Gardens, ponds, waterfalls, fountains and statuary create a peaceful haven for worship and meditation.  Visitors are greeted by a golden statue of Buddha set between a pair of large stone elephants.  On the day of Cindy and Nop’s ceremony the tusks of the elephants were draped in colorful floral offerings.

The beautiful bride wore a lovely long-sleeved lace cheongsam in a rich golden color.  Around her neck was an elaborate gold necklace with large stones, sometimes called a khau.  The groom chose a white Khmer jacket for the ceremony.  The couple enjoyed welcoming their guests to the serene garden.

Before entering the temple, everyone took off their shoes.  Even the bride removed the pretty high-heeled pumps which matched her dress.  Inside the temple, every surface was decorated with beautiful paintings and carvings of Buddhist traditions.  Cindy and Nop approached an altar and prayed for a blessing of their union.

Unlike Western traditions, Buddhist priests do not actually marry the couple.  Instead they bless the union which the couple has formed privately.  At Cindy and Nop’s ceremony there were nine monks chanting and praying for the union’s blessing. Cindy and Nop thanked the priests with large offerings of food in gorgeous metal bowls.  After the religious ritual there was a live performance of traditional music with authentic antique Cambodian instruments.

Later a reception to celebrate the union was held at the Crescent Hotel.  The radiant Cindy changed into a gorgeous white brocade gown with a scoop neckline, cap sleeves and a large decorative bow.  Nop changed into a handsome white military uniform.  The couple created an impressive image together.

The tall wedding cake on a silver cake stand had pink roses and white hydrangeas between the layers.  Surrounding tables were also decorated with elegant displays of roses and hydrangeas.  Other tables were graced by three tall crystal candle sticks with crystal beaded votives.  A live band entertained the party and a delicious plated dinner was served.

With the hundreds and hundreds of weddings we’ve recorded we’ve learned language, custom and tradition are windows, not barriers. An exhaustive list of all the types of ceremonies we’ve captured would be a long list indeed.  Yet regardless of the ethnicity, race or religion, when we deliver the finished videos to our couples, the result is always the same – they love it.  That’s why Cindy and Nop chose us to capture their special day.

Cindy saw our huge library of videos and appreciated the way handled diverse circumstances.  She liked that we discussed her event with her to develop our plan for her day, rather than trying to squeeze her day into our template.  We loved the beauty and serenity of her ceremony’s venue and we always love filming a beautiful bride.

On the special day we arrived early to set-up our cameras and capture pre-ceremony events.  Throughout the day we were everywhere, recording everything, while doing our best to be invisible.  When the event was over, we took the audio and video recordings back to our studio and pored over them to edit and mix a unique video of their ceremony and celebration.

When Cindy hired us to videograph her wedding, she thought she’d be satisfied with the more economical DVD, but when she saw how good the DVD was she was so excited by it that she upgraded to BluRay.

Lauren and Finley, Cigars and Candlelight

A friend of the groom called the match back in fourth grade.  It took Lauren’s friends a little longer.  It wasn’t until Lauren packed her Louis Vitton bags for a camo-drenched hunting trip that her friends decided she was serious about Finley.  The couple was married at Ashton Gardens in Corinth, Texas.

The wedding guests knew they’d arrived at the right place when they spied the large L and F floral initials on Ashton Gardens’ Chapel doors.  The lovely Lauren was nearby in the Bride’s dressing room stepping into her strapless satin ballgown with its shirred sweetheart bodice and crystal beaded belt.  Long crystal chandelier earrings dangled from her lobes beneath a cascading tulle veil.

The candlelit evening ceremony had a mystical feel.  The chapel has windows on three sides which open to dense woods.  The candlelight reflected on the windows and made it appear as if there were fairy lights among the trees.  Along with candelabras full of flickering flames at the front of the church, the aisle was lined with votives floating in large vases of water.  A live musician provided music for the guests as they entered.

After the ceremony, Lauren and Finley, glided down Ashton Gardens gorgeous curved staircase to the enthusiastic applause of their guests.  Everyone enjoyed the delicious buffet dinner and then the bride and groom cut their cakes.  The bride’s cake had a cascade of white roses flowing down its three tiers.  The groom’s cake was a cigar box made of chocolate with white chocolate dipped strawberries all the way around.

If someone preferred real cigars, there was a cigar maker outdoors, just a few steps away.  Finley slipped away several times to enjoy the craftsman’s skills.  Though the cigar booth stayed busy, most people preferred music over smokes and enjoyed dancing to the live band.

At the evening’s end, a friend with a vintage Rolls Royce pulled up to the portico.  The guests waved balloons, streamers and pennants as Lauren and Finley climbed into the car and rode away to their new life together.

The windows which make Ashton Gardens such a lovely venue for weddings also make it impossible for a videographer to find a place to hide.  That’s why LeniCam developed our proprietary remote control camera.  For Lauren and Finley’s wedding we placed the camera inconspicuously on the stage and operated it from the balcony.  This allowed us to get close-ups of Lauren during the vows.  Another camera-person was at the back of the chapel getting the long shots.

At the reception, our videographers worked as a team to capture everything that was happening.  We promised Lauren we’d be everywhere all the time, but remain invisible to the family, friends and participants.  The bride was happy with both our video and our disappearing act.
