Dallas Event Videos look even better when recorded with multiple cameras.

Why Two Cameras Are Better Than One in Dallas Event Videos

The Magic of Media

There’s magic in media.  Selfies, Instagram and You Tube – these internet tools have transformed our lives.  A small device we can carry in our pocket has changed the way we share and remember our experiences.  Professionally produced Dallas Event Videos can supercharge these memories for special occasions.

Your smartphone is a media tool.  A professional videographer arrives at your event with an entire arsenal of media tools.  LeniCam videographers use professional grade HD cameras to capture the action which provides incredible clarity and quality, but they also bring an arsenal of other tools with them – tripods, microphones and lights, for instance.

Tripods hold the camera to remove any shaky scenes.  Microphones pick up various feeds of sound, so audio seems as natural as the original event.  The right light removes shadows from faces.  These are just a few of the tricks of the trade a professional videographer uses at an event.

The Magic of Professional Editing

After we’ve recorded an event we go back to our studios and start the production phase.  To do this right will take several weeks of work.  First we look at all the video footage, cutting out what shouldn’t be there.  Awkward moments, slips of the tongue, suspension of activity – all that goes away.  We’ve even edited out the evidence that a bride forgot to spit out her chewing gum.

Then we mix the sound to the audio track.  We use live music, recorded music and the various live and ambient recordings to underline the action on the screen.  We also remove distracting ambient sounds like traffic, a cell phone or a fussy baby.  The result is Dallas Event Videos that bring the magic of Hollywood movies to your special events.

The Magic of a Second Camera

When a second camera is used to record an event the magic quotient is multiplied geometrically.  On a wedding video, for instance, the moment the doors open and the bride is revealed in all her wedding day glory is one of the most important moments of the video.  With a second camera, the video is also going to include the groom’s reaction to that once-in-a-lifetime moment.  A single camera can pan back and forth, but it cannot capture both at the same time.

Weddings aren’t the only place a second camera can work magic.  Imagine a high school drama presentation.  With one camera, the lens would be focused on center stage and the static view can get boring, no matter how excellent the acting.  With multiple cameras, one camera can capture the action center stage, while another captures close-up, entrances, exits and activity on other parts of the stage.  When all these video feeds are taken back to the studio, it allows the producer to re-create a very natural, exciting and easy to watch experience.

These are just a couple of examples of the magic of multiple cameras used in Dallas Event Videos.  Contact LeniCam today to discover other methods we can use to enhance the memories of your special occasion.

Shooting the Green Screen Video

Dallas Video Production Company Shoots Green Screen Music Video

What is Green Screen?

You know when the weatherman shows you a map on TV?  Well, he’s not really standing in front of a map.  He’s standing in front of a blank screen.  The map is actually generated elsewhere and technology merges the two images to let the viewer see the weatherman pointing out a storm front.

Special effects companies do the same thing.  They film your favorite characters or space ships or whatever and then superimpose them onto whatever landscape they want to.  We all know something like that is going on, but that’s part of the fun.

When it comes to photography, programs like Photoshop make it pretty easy to cut out a background and insert something else, even without a green screen.  A videographer films 30 frames per second, so editing all of those frames, even for a relatively short sequence, would be prohibitively time-consuming.  Hence the use of green screens.

Why green?  Well, there is a certain shade of green that is not present in skin tone.  A video producer tells technology to ignore anything in that particular shade of green in a video and super-impose something else in it’s place.

This technique is used in pretty much every kind of video, from animated films to corporate training videos.  Most recently we used it to create a music video.

Abby Lakew – Ethiopian Singer

So, Abby Lakew lives in America, but the company which produces her music videos is in Ethiopia.  The cost of producing a music video is high enough.  Shipping the artist back and forth between the States and Ethiopia would do nothing but raise the price.  So how do they get footage of Abby singing her music to put into the videos.  They called LeniCam Video Productions.

We set up the equipment in our studio: green screen, videocamera, lights and audio.  Abby came in and we filmed all the sequences needed by her music video producers.  Through the magic of technology, we filmed Abby and got the footage to her production company faster than she could have boarded a plane at DFW and for a lot less money that the travel would have cost.

Though this is not the first music video Abby’s team produced through this method, it was their first time to use LeniCam.  They were much happier with our work than what had been sent to them in the past.  The music video we participated in hasn’t been released yet, but in the meantime, you can enjoy other work by Abby by clicking here.

The All-in-One Promise

“It slices! It dices! It grates! It will even julienne french fries.” Somewhere along the way, on TV or at a trade show, we’ve all heard a salesman promise their tool can replace every other tool in your kitchen. Yet, when you get home, you discover that while the gadget will do all of the tasks on the list, it doesn’t slice as well as the knife, dice as well as the foot processor, grate as well as the grater or julienne the fries the way you like them.  Believe it or not, some photographers will try to tell you they can do it all, too.  They’ll tell you that you don’t actually need a wedding videographer!

Regardless of the size of your wedding budget, it’s hard to fit everything you want into what you can afford to spend.  When a photographer says they can put a single package together to replace multiple  vendors and do so at an attractive price, it’s tempting to cut corners.  When they tell you they can provide a video along with their other services, here are some things to consider.

Length of the Finished Video

When a photographer tells you they can be your videographer, too, ask them the length of the finished video.  You may discover your “video” isn’t a video after all.

Highlight videos to share online with family and friends are quite popular, but that’s not the same thing as a professionally-produced full-length wedding video.  We include a highlight video as part of our packages and you can choose from several styles, but sometimes highlight videos are merely a slideshow created from a series of photos. The primary differences in videography and photography are movement and sound, as in photography doesn’t have any.  Sharing the action is more fun when there is actually action.  So when your photographer tells you the length of his finished video, you’ll know that anything shorter than a full length Hollywood movie might not even be a video.

Type of Camera

When it comes to cameras, photographers usually shoot video with a DSLR, a digital single-lens reflex camera.  The videos from these devices are great, but there’s one drawback.  They only have 29 minutes of recording time and then they shut off – automatically.  What if that 30th minute is when you say I do?

Sometimes photographers will try to cover up the shortcoming by suggesting that no one has time to watch a full length video and they can capture the highlights with their camera.  The problem is most highlights don’t come with a warning signal.  Those moments are the spontaneous, unexpected treasures a dedicated videographer will capture, because their camera keeps on rolling for hours and hours.  Then we choose the best moments to include in your video and add scene selection so you can watch as little or as much as you want to at any given time.

The Unmanned Videocamera

The most expensive thing about videography is the videographer.  Some photographers overcome the shortcomings of a DSLR by actually setting up a videocamera, but most leave it running without anyone to monitor it while they photograph the wedding.  While this brings movement and sound to the video, the resulting video will be stale when compared with a video actively recorded by a professional videographer and the sound will not have the quality of ours.

When our videographer is recording he’s using all the features of the camera to follow the action, get wide shots and then adjust the videocamera for close-ups.  The stationary camera is going to get the action, but only from one focal point, so there is no variety to make it interesting.  A dedicated videographer can also monitor several audio tracks.  We put wireless mics on key players, bring wireless hand mics in case they are needed and can plug directly into the venue’s sound system, all while the videocamera is picking up the ambient sound.  Then we mix it with the video to feature natural sounding audio for your video.  It makes a huge difference in your enjoyment of your wedding video.

Some Do It Right

While many photographers take shortcuts to provide videos at a reduced price, there are actually photographers who do it right.  They use a real videocamera and they hire videographers to do the recording.  They’ll cost more than the ones we’ve been describing, but you’ll be happier with the finished product.  We just happen to think you’ll be happiest with LeniCam Video Productions as your wedding videographer.  Call us and let’s discuss your wedding.  We’ll find a way for you to afford what you really want, a full-length, professionally-edited wedding video customized to your specifications.

At this point of the summer break from school, moms are hearing a lot of complaints about boredom.  LeniCam, a Dallas Videographer Company, is anything but bored.  In fact, this summer has been full of new and unique projects.

Brides

Summer is bridal season for us and as usual, we’ve sent our videographers to many this year.  A trend we are seeing is a preference for wedding trailers over the more traditional highlight videos.  The trailers are shorter in length, have little to no relation to the order of the events and the activity in the video is often cued to a favorite song or music from the celebrations.

These wedding trailers are designed for sharing on the internet and our brides love them.  The trailers are just part of the LeniCam wedding video package we’d like to design for you.  Our full length, fully customised, fully edited video of your wedding will include all your special moments, before, during and after your celebrations.  The scene selection feature allow you to watch the whole video or pick out a particular moment in your day.  You’ll have five copies of your BluRay or DVD discs to share with family and friends.  You can even choose alternate audio tracks to capture sweet words from your new spouse you don’t want to share with anyone else.

Sports

With kids out of school, sports are a great distraction.   Just last week, we were the official videographer for a soccer tournament.  We were on-site at the soccer fields taking orders from coaches and parents and then our videographers would capture the games for digital and disc delivery.

But soccer isn’t our only sport.  We started the summer riding along with a car club’s East Texas Road Rally.  Our videographer set up in the backseat of a convertible and captured the excitement as the cars sped down the winding roads of the Piney Woods.  Occasionally the caravan  would pull into a small town and the proud owners would open up their hoods to show off their muscle.  At the end of the day everyone gathered for an exciting awards event.

Our founder was particularly glad when he discovered we’d booked a track event.  It’s a sport he participated in during his school days.  He was determined to be the videographer for the event and our associate producer had to juggle a lot of schedules to make that happen, but we made it happen.

This is just sampling of the type of sports events we frequently capture.  Whatever the game from football and baseball, to fencing and golf, we’re the guys and gals you want to call.

Dance

Have you ever been to an arangetram?  We’ve developed a real specialty for these wonderful celebrations of traditional Indian dance.  In fact, every day of the weekends in June, we had videographers filming at the Eisemann Center, where these events are often held.

We help commemorate many kinds of dance.  LeniCam frequently works with local dance studios to capture everything from formal ballet recitals to exciting talent shows.  We can even help with the distribution and sales of these events through our website.

Special Events and Corporate Videos

If an event is special to you, it’s special to us.  We share happy celebrations like birthdays and anniversaries, but we also produce videos of funerals.  We all so produce many kinds of video for business and commerce, from training films to promotional materials.  All events share certain requirements, but each type of event has its own demands.  Even more important to you is that no two events is exactly alike, so we take time to understand what you expect in your video and that’s what we do.

You’ve been planning for months, maybe even years, for the most important day of your life – your wedding day –  and the last, big question you should asking yourself is, ‘Should I hire a professional Dallas wedding videographer?’

Here’s how hiring a professional Dallas wedding videographer makes the difference between a hide-it-in-the-back-of-the-bookshelf record of your wedding and a record you’ll cherish and want to look at time and time again:

1 – No More Guessing Games

When you ask an amateur to do you a favor and make a video record of your wedding day and they promise to do the job, how sure can you be that they’ll be there when the time comes?  Will they remember?  How often do you remind them?  Will they resent being told over and over to be there at a certain time on a certain day?  What if the relative or friend or friend-of-a-friend has a sick child or some other kind of emergency that day, will they be able to show up? You won’t have to ask those questions about a professional videographer. Here at LeniCam we put your special day first.

2 – No More Missed Shots

A professional Dallas wedding videographer has experienced many, many weddings and will know exactly where to be to record everything important that happens.  While your wedding is going to be unique for you, a professional videographer has likely seen some variation of anything you might plan for your wedding and he’ll know best how to capture it on camera.  You might even be surprised when you watch your wedding video how much your videographer has captured.  An amateur with one camera, dashing from one place to another, is going to miss so many of those surprising moments.

3 – No More Shaky Cam

You know the home movies you can’t stand to watch – the ones where everything is so jumpy and shaky you get motion-sickness looking at them?  Jumpy and shaky might be fine for recording a road trip to the beach; but simply inadequate for recording your wedding day.  Professional videographers have all of the right equipment including dollies, tripods and image stabilizers that keep images from jiggling across your screen.  Our professionals also have the equipment to shoot from multiple camera angles, to capture audio on high-quality sound equipment and to edit footage of the event to create a polished end product.  They can do everything they need to do without disrupting the ceremony or becoming the center of attention.

4 – No More Resentful Wedding Guests

When you ask a friend or relative to shoot video of your wedding, they won’t be able to enjoy the wedding.  And, depending on how patient and forgiving they are, that means your free videographer could end up petering out somewhere between the bouquet toss and the conga line.  Hiring a professional means everyone you invite to your wedding will be there to relax and enjoy the day without having to work.

If your North Texas wedding is going to be special, memorable and fun and you’ve already rented the perfect romantic venue, why don’t you hesitate to hire a professional when it comes to documenting your most important day.

Wedding Videographers Capture the Moment

A good videographer captures the moment with high quality equipment and great sound quality. Skill, experience and talent are all factors that a professional videographer pulls from to capture your most sacred moments. There’s no better way to capture life’s greatest moments than with the help of an experienced professional videographer.

Relive the Moment

By choosing a videographer that shoots from different angles and has an eye for capturing the most memorable activities in a crowded event you can see and enjoy the moments you didn’t even know happened and relive the very best of your special occasion.

It’s important to look at some of the past work that the videographer has done in order to determine their level of skill. You want to look at the quality of videos that are produced as well as the production level.

Ask yourself if the quality of work makes you feel like they’re able to capture your special occasion and enable you to relive it with quality coverage and video production.

Share the Moment

Imagine being able to share your high school graduation or wedding day with your very own children — or even better, show your teenager how much they cried the day they were born. A professional Dallas wedding videographer can produce a video far better than most amateurs can, including music and other production effects that make your memorable moments truly magical.

When you have a special occasion that you want to remember, you have to make the very best decision the first time. After all, you will not get a second chance to capture that moment. That’s why it’s so important to have a good list of criteria that helps you make the right decision of a Dallas wedding videographer.

So don’t wait another moment, call LeniCam Productions at 972-378-0446 today to learn more about how they can help you capture your special moments.

Wedding Videographer Selection Criteria

Cutting back on your Dallas Wedding Videographer budget is not a decision you want to make. After the cake is cut and the guests have gone home, you only have photos and videos to help you remember your special day. You do not want that video to be subpar. The best way to make sure you get precisely the video you want in order to remember your day is to choose the right videographer for the job. Before you can make that decision, you need to understand the kind services that videographers can offer to get services tailored to your tastes.

Filming Style

The filming techniques employed by your videographer can range all the way from standard ‘point-and-shoot’ up to the current ‘documentary-style’ trend. There are numerous variations in between these ends of the spectrum, some more loosely constructed and traditional like point-and-shoot, and others more structured and modern like documentary-style. Determining which style you want your Dallas wedding videographer to lean towards is a matter of watching videos and deciding which styles suits you.

Amount of Film

Different videographers establish that they will film different segments of the wedding process. Of course, all of them will film the wedding itself, but you might want more events than that included in your video. Your wedding celebration might also include a rehearsal dinner, the reception, and wedding dinner, or even other events for your family and friends. A Dallas wedding videographer might not have those options built in to their contract. You need to decide just how many of the wedding events you want dedicated to film and choose a videographer who meets that need.

Elements Included

The details that you might want to include can range from the background music, to family interviews, to old family videos. For your wedding video to suit you, you need to have a say in what elements will make up that video. If you want more than just film from your wedding, then you need a videographer who can make those personalized adjustments.

When you take all of these different attributes into consideration, you will want to choose LeniCam Productions as your wedding videographer. Their experience means that they are able to tailor their services to suit what you want for your wedding, rather than force you adjust your wedding to suit what they are willing to offer you.  Find out more about their services at http://www.lenicamvideoproductions.com.

Say So Much More with Wedding Videos

A picture may be worth 1000 words but, when it comes to weddings, videos say so much more. Photography is such an ingrained part of the wedding experience most people go on the assumption that there will be a photographer present. However, with the technology available today, a professional Dallas Wedding Videographer can capture nuances of the day that still photography simply can’t. That’s not to say that wedding pictures are outdated and useless, but a video of the ceremony and the reception is like having the keys to Doc Brown’s DeLorean. Anytime in the future, whether it’s a week, a month or on your 50th anniversary, a video will immediately transport you back to the happiest day of your life.

If you’re undecided on whether or not to have a Dallas wedding videographer film your nuptials and the celebration following, take the advice of brides who have been there. The Knot polled brides of weddings past and asked their thoughts on wedding videos, and the results were unanimous. Feedback came from brides who had a videographer and ones who didn’t. All of the women who opted against having their weddings videoed regret the decision, and everyone who decided in favor of a wedding video is pleased that they did — especially the ones who admit that they didn’t want their wedding filmed but did it anyway.

When you step back and take a look at everything that goes on from the moment of the engagement all the way through the end of the reception, it’s obvious that a video of the event itself will be a valuable memento. You’re doing so much, and so much is going on all around you. It’s kind of like being in the eye of a hurricane with no way to slow things down to even get your bearings. A different survey discussed on WedNet points out that videos do a superior job of capturing the essence, emotions and atmosphere of the day. This survey, conducted by Breakthrough Marketing, Inc., confirmed what Knot followers had expressed: that you wouldn’t fully understand how valuable a wedding video was until after the fact. Over 60 percent of brides who didn’t hire a videographer because they didn’t think they’d want a video of their wedding would recommend that future brides opt for the video. Overwhelmingly, each one mentioned missing out on a lot of the festivities and being so busy that they didn’t remember much from the day.

Don’t let the little details of your special day disappear into the past. Take the advice of brides with experience and hire a videographer for your wedding. Filming weddings since 2003, John Lenihan of LeniCam Productions is the Dallas wedding videographer with the experience and skill to perfectly capture your special day in a way that photographs can’t, and at a price that will fit into your wedding budget. A video of your wedding is a priceless time capsule. Entrust LeniCam Productions to record your precious memories for you and for generations to come.
