11:30 – 12:00 Dane Rutledge, Esq. Dane is a member of the AAO advisory board. Dane will comment on legal dynamics concerning ozone therapy.
12:00 – 2:00 Break – Visit with exhibitors; lunch will be on your own
2:00 – 3:00 Dennis Mihalka, DDS – “Water Chemistry and Ozone and Ear Insufflation, Simply Powerful “ – Ozonated water is a more effective antimicrobial on biofilm than ozone gas. In dental unit water lines, reproducible test results approach zero CFU/ml utilizing ozonated water. This presentation will review ozonation of IV saline, saline irrigation, distilled water, reverse osmosis, bottled and tap water. In addition, the effects of chemistry, temperature and time of ozonated water will be reviewed for clinical and personal applications.
Ear insufflation is a minimally invasive, simple, and inexpensive delivery system of ozone gas for the treatment of various common conditions. An ear insufflation system, with evacuation that eliminates all ambient ozone, will be introduced.
Dennis Mihalka is a retired dentist, who was greatly influenced by Drs. Ed Lynch, Julian Holmes and Bill Domb and utilized ozone along with diode lasers in his dental practice. Over the last ten years he has developed a 100% effective system enabling dentists to achieve near microbe-free water. In his installations around the world, Dennis has developed systems utilizing the only materials inert to ozone…glass and Teflon.
3:00-3:30 Break
3:30 – 5:00 Yoshiharu Okamoto, DVM, PhD – Effects and application of ozonated water on tumors. For the past ten years Dr. Okamoto has been investigating the clinical use of ozonated waer. Recently, he published a remarkable a study on the safety of ozonated water and its anti-tumor effects using a tumor-bearing mouse model and normal controls. Local administration of ozonated water (208 mM) was not associated with any detrimental effects in normal tissues. On the other hand, local administration of ozonated water (20.8, 41.6, 104, or 208 mM) directly into the tumor tissue induced necrosis and inhibited proliferation of tumor cells. The size of the necrotic areas was dependent on the concentration of ozonated water. This research has incredible potential for the treatment of human cancers.
Dr. Okamoto is a full professor of Veterinary Neurology and Oncology at Tottori University, Japan. Besides his work in ozonated water, he has also investigated hyperthermia and photodynamic hyperthermia using indocyanine green modified liposome with various light source including diode laser, LED, broad band light source to inhibit cancer growth.
5:00 – 5:30 Mark Weiser, DDS – “The Oral Cavity…the gateway to the rest of the body”.
One of the most common shortcomings of many practitioners is a failure to examine the oral cavity and to know what to look for. Dr. Weiser is one of the leaders of the ozone movement in the USA, and a clinical dentist with over 12 years of ozone use clinically. He is going to give an exciting presentation on what we should be looking for in the mouth when doing examinations. He will be giving you step by step approach to the different oral systemic issues you should be looking for and what medical conditions influence oral conditions and what oral conditions may influence medical conditions. Treating oral pathologies using ozone as well as preconditioning our patients will be presented.

9:00 – 10:00 Pravin Patel, MD – Stem cell Therapy combined with Ozone Therapy to eliminate Diabetes and Arthritis – Dr. Pravin Patel will be presenting today his amazing results in eliminating diabetes and Arthritis using Stem cell therapy and ozone therapy along with specially formulated Ayurvedic herbal medicines. He will also be presenting some case studies and patients experiences in their own words.
10:00 – 11:00 Mingxiong Huang, PhD – A Pilot Treatment Study for Mild Traumatic Brain Injury: Neuroimaging Changes by Low-Intensity Pulse-based Transcranial Electrical Stimulation. Dr. Huang is a Professor & Co-Director of MEG Radiology Imaging Laboratory in the Department of Radiology at University of California, San Diego. He has previously shown that MEG (magnetoencephalography) detection of abnormal brain slow-waves is one of the most sensitive biomarkers for mild traumatic brain injury (concussions), with about 85 percent sensitivity in detecting concussions and, essentially, no false-positives. He will be reporting on his amazing recently published research on six patients with TBIs who had abnormal slow-waves in initial, baseline MEG scans. Following treatment using IASIS microcurrent neurofeedback, MEG scans indicated measurably reduced abnormal slow-waves. The participants also reported a significant reduction in post-concussion scores. This wok is especially pioneering in that this neurofeedback device can be purchased and used in your clinic right now.
11:00 – 12:00 Constantine Kotsanis, MD – Understanding & Treating Cancer with Integrative Medicine. For decades Dr. Katsanis has been a leader and pioneer in alternative treatmets for cancer. He will be presenting a synopsis of what he has found to be most effective.
12:00 – 2:00 Break – Visit with exhibitors; lunch will be on your own
2:00 – 3:30 Silvia Menéndez, PhD – Ozone therapy: from preclinical studies to evidence-based medicine. Dr. Menéndez has been one of the premier researchers in ozone therapy since 1986. She was Head of the Ozone Clinic of the Ozone Research Center in Cuba until 2011. She is author of two patents, 2 medication registrations and a new therapeutic indication for ozonated sunflower oil, as well as two books, chapters of books, and more than 50 articles, published in peer-reviewed journals for the past 15 years, all in the field of ozone therapy.
By means of different preclinical studies using ozone therapy Dr. Menéndez will be teaching us that there exists enough evidence to support the clinical effectiveness of ozone therapy. Using animal models it was possible to prove that ozone therapy can activate nuclear factor-erythroid 2-related factor (Nrf2) via moderate oxidative stress (upregulating the synthesis of antioxidant enzymes) and suppress or modulate nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NFκB) and inflammatory responses. Activation of Nrf2 results in protection against neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Also, levels of nitric oxide and pro-inflammatory cytokines, like tumor necrosis factor α and interleukin 1 and 6, were able to be modulated by ozone. In the other hand, mitochondrial integrity and functionality and calcium homeostasis were achieved, as well as adenosine A1 receptors (AA1R) activation. The finding that the effects of ozone are mediated by AA1R allows considering other potential medical applications for the ozone therapy, mainly in cardiovascular and central nervous systems, as well as in pain treatment.
3:30 – 4:00 Break
4:00 – 4:30 Heinz Konrad, MD – Dr. Konrad is well known to the AAO and to the international ozone community as a pioneer for over 4 decades in ozone therapy. He will be discussing several amazing clinical cases he has recently treated.
4:30 – 5:30 Eric Wert, PhD – Multiple Uses of Ozone According to the International Ozone Association. Dr. Eric Wert is the current President of the International Ozone Association’s Pan American Group. He is also a Project Manager of Applied Water Quality Research at the Southern Nevada Water Authority. In this role, he has performed many research studies involving ozone that have been published in peer-reviewed journals and numerous conference presentations.
The International Ozone Association (IOA) is a worldwide gathering and technology transfer point for ozone information – bringing together scientists, engineers, technologists, equipment manufacturers, etc. The organization unites multiple applications of ozone technology to meet many different needs (i.e. municipal, industrial, food, medical, etc.). Recently, focus has been on municipal water and wastewater applications to successfully remove pathogens and trace organic contaminants from water supplies around the world. This presentation will provide an overview of the IOA, highlight the many uses of ozone, and discuss the application of ozone for municipal water systems.

Workshop: Introduction To Ozone Therapy – Thursday 8:30-11:30
Instructor: Mark Bartiss, MD
Ozone therapy is the most versatile form of therapy there is for medical and home applications. It can be administered through the skin, in the blood, in the intestines, through the ears, in the lungs, in different body organs, and in painful or damaged body parts. It is extremely effective in many so-called incurable diseases such as hepatitis, herpes, Lyme disease, macular degeneration, and others. Dr. Bartiss will introduce you to the biochemical, physiological, immunological, and circulatory effects of ozone therapy. The student will leave with an appreciation of how and why ozone therapy can be so effective in so many disorders. This is the perfect workshop to prepare the practitioner new to ozone therapy to the information that is to come in the congress.
Workshop: A Multi-Systemic Approach To Lyme Disease – Thursday 1:00-5:00
Instructors: David Minkoff, MD and Frank Shallenberger, MD
Properly speaking Chronic Lyme Disease is not a disease – it is a syndrome. The dictionary says that a syndrome is “a group of signs and symptoms that occur together and characterize a particular abnormality or condition.” Syndromes can have many different factors causing them. They are rarely limited to just one factor. And that is why there is no one successful treatment for chronic Lyme. The treatment for Chronic Lyme Disease has to be individualized to each patient depending on the various systems that are affected. Drs. Minkoff and Shallenberger will detail a comprehensive multi-system approach to successfully treat this disease that includes a completely unique ozone therapy protocol. This workshop is designed for both practitioners and lay people.
